This isn't emerging meta, this is neckbeard meta. Best solution is to have him take out all 120 Horrors and then just walk away from the table. Or throw one of your 5 rulebooks on his models if all else fails.

I play competitive lists too because sometimes the tourney tables are the only way to get away from people whining about your list.

So you want to play open play but tend to bring lists that fit the power level of matched play?
No seriously:
If he takes that army, you'll probably see him at a tournament. Aren't there other armies that prefer him from succeeding?
