Converted to the dark

Hi there when I first joined this forum I thought I'd jut be on to get advice on an army list but I've actually stuck around bit more and am enjoying the forum so thought I may as well do an Introduction. :-)


I've been playing 40k for about 13 years now and my first army was Grey Knights (I still have and play them) followed by a space marine army (which I still also have but play less). The gaming group I'm part of got sick of our games always being Imperial vs Imperial so I decided I was going to start a new non imperil faction and I knew it was going to be Dark Eldar.

I think Dark Eldar have some of the best models in the game I am especially in love with the Voidraven and the Incubi and the fact that I rarely encounter them in any gaming group I go to just added to their charm for me so I started picking up bits for them here and there and now with the release of 8th my other 2 factions just look boring compared to the Dark Eldar so even though I am yet to have a game with them (I've really enjoyed painting what I've got so far and I like this army so much I don't want to put unpainted models on the table) they have become my main army this edition and I look forwards to having some games with them.

Looking forwards to posting more as I get more experience with them/ units finished painted and looking forwards to getting to know you all more too.

Glad to see this place growing and people sticking around! Personally I'm loving that there's a lot of activity in the army list section from new players and older players alike; because there's a lot of room for effective lists and comparing different ideas. I actually had a similar experience to yourself in terms of starting DE, except I started with chaos. Everybody in my little group was playing something space marine related and when the 5E stuff for DE dropped I was sold.

I must admit 5E was the one and only time I ever played against a dark eldar army (pretty sure the kid I played only got them because of the new codex) I never saw him bring them again after he got Lilit murdered by a tactical squad sergeant with a power first. I really do think it's a shame it's an army I rarely see played

Welcome to the City! The Haemonculi down below say they have cookies but no one seems to come back from there. You say you captured some Grey Knights? Throw them in the arena! I am sure the orks and other slaves would love a change of pace!
