| i have been playing DE since the new codex. it struck me last night; as the slaughter ensued Vs the Tau.... Drazhar has a BS. but i seem to be devoid of reasons for it. did i miss something obvious? is there a rule that he may claim to shoot? Any thoughts? | |

| To add to the confusion, look at the entry for Lady Malys. No, they don't carry shooting weapons but some terrain (fortresses and stuff) have guns on them that, depending on who/where you play, allow them to fire those weapons. So no, you didn't miss anything, just some tricksy stuff | |

| Additionally you could play a campaign, that allows to earn upgrades to your characters between battles.
Sometimes GW even releases some upgrade options. At the moment we have an event and the staff can give out special equipment cards, for good paint jobs or big orders, wich can be used by all characters until the end of the year.
So while these units have no gun by default, there are several ways to get one.

| Similar to Weirdboy. He have autohit shooting powers and no normal shooting weapons but still have BS 2. What's the point then? Dunno, but I'm ok with that. | |

| That's actually less weird. Because, although his shooting powers hit automatically he needs a BS greater than 0 to use them. - BRB p.7 wrote:
ZERO-LEVEL CHARACTERISTICS Some creatures have been given a ‘0’ for certain characteristics, which means that they have no ability whatsoever in that field (the same is also occasionally represented by a ‘–’). This usually applies to creatures unable to use missile weapons, and so they have a BS of 0, but it might apply to other characteristics too.
So if he some model has a BS of 0, it can never use any shooting weapons (even no shooting psychic powers), even if those hit automatically.

| Remember, Drazhar's statline is more of a 'wink wink, nudge nudge, he's a coughPHOENIXLORDcough' move. | |

I hate to be a rules lawyer, but that doesn't state he can't use shooting psychic powers. It just means he can't pass tests using that characteristic. The book states that it "usually applies to creatures unable to use missile weapons", not "they cannot use missile weapons ever". To put it another way, if something is an auto-hit, then the ability of the user doesn't come into it whatsoever, it's the ability of the weapon.
