| I've been lurking here the last week, and posted a few times and since I seem to keep coming back I figured I'd say hello properly. I played 40k back in 2nd ed and then some in third, and I've been taking a distant interest in the intervening years. I got more into role playing and MtG than tabletop games for a long while, but I'm going to get back into modeling at some point in the next few months, when I can find the cash. I'm more interested in it from a hobby perspective than a gaming perspective, but assuming I can find people to play I'll be doing that too. I was thiiiis close to playing Orks so I could scratch build superheavies and go play apocolypse, but I decided that painting Orks wouldn't be as fulfilling even if converting for them is awesome. I came to dark elder because they are full of enigmas, and are at the same time the most and least human force. There's something very familiar about their arrogance, their selfishness and their treachery, but there is a core that is totally alien. Fertile ground for the imagination in other words. Also, they look awesome and are 'bad' without being chaos, tyranids or necrons. They have redeeming features and aren't just evil for the sake of it. Also, did I mention the new models are dynamite. I'm planning on a bone armour with dark red edging and accessories. Perhaps not the typical 'dark' dark eldar, but I think it'll look striking. Anyways, so thats me. Hello | |

| Welcome to our humble hack'n'slash palace. I understand you from the hobby perspective, I have both Orks and Tyranids and they are amazing for building and converting, and playing.
Dark Eldar have just as much potential, but its somehow more subtle. And while both Orks and 'Nids have more than enough character, I think its the stories that can be made with DE that give them a slight edge.
Looking forward to seeing your colour scheme, I have seen some other bone- and light-coloured DE and they look great! | |

| Hiyas and Welcome Aboard! I can't wait to see your paint scheme, it sounds cool! I'm also an Ork player (like Gobsmakked) and got into the hobby due to the modeling aspect as well. I've since become as equally avid a player. The only thing stopping you from collection multiple armies is time and money | |
