Which subfaction of the true kin is your favourite?

I love Kabals, it's what drew me into the faction into the first place. I also do like wych cults in theory as the jetbikes and hellions are some of my favourite models....but they're useless in game.

I've never liked the coven aesthetic personally.

I think this sums up my thoughts perfectly.

For me, the Wych Cult epitomises what Dark Eldar should be (at least in theory). Fast, deadly (lol) and fragile. Now if GW could just do some work on the fast and deadly categories?

Honest to god, I've just come to believe this is exactly how their conversations go. "What? Many Dark Eldar mechanics make zero sense and are failing to accomplish what we thought they should? Well once we're done with Space Marines 9th and 10th edition codexes, we'll circle back around on their indexed army. Just...suck it up."

I like to imagine that the Archon and Succubus both had decent auras. Then Guilliman walked past and inhaled them.

Yes. I mean, there are characters out there with auras of "Reroll all failed hits and wound for units within 6"", while we get... well, you know what we get. Plus, the good aura armies also get psychic powers as an extra force multiplier.

So, hopefully, because Druhkari don't have a psychic phase, we are in for a huge surprise in terms of power and capability when our codex finally drops. As a huge apology from GW for 6th and 7th edition codecies and the 8th edition index.

To be fair, the 8th edition index was pretty good compared to others, the problems were we have one trick, massed kabal and darklight, and the codexes came out so soon it was short lived.

Ever since I read the description of Dark Eldar (I think the heading was something like "the Lost" but that sounds more like the Lost and the Damned) and saw the picture I use for my portrait on this forum I have been enthralled by Dark Eldar. That image has always been my baseline Dark Eldar aesthetic and for that reason the Covens don't gel well with my understanding of what a Dark Eldar should look like. The Cults fit in well enough and I prefer armies that deal damage at close range. My perfect army would be Kabalites that are trained and equipped for melee. Incubi are too noble for my taste and too specialized to build an army around.

but of the three, probably kabal.

Kabal. Spine, meat and bones of the dark Eldar. Cults and Covens are to me more of a specialization, be it of a "sporty" or a "medical" kind...
