I just read the tournament statistics on BoLS:
http://www.belloflostsouls.net/2018/01/itc-2017-40k-year-in-review-statfest.html

And saw some things that may be worthy to mention.

Faction Use percentage in 8th Edition: Ynnari 4%, Drukhari 2.83%, Asuryani 2.26%, Harlequins 1.29%

Percentage of positions for drukhari:
1st Place: 2.85%
2nd Place: 0.81%
3rd Place: 2.64%

Basically the percentage of drukhari winners is almost equal to the percentage of drukhari players.
In comparison Adeptus Astartes: 14.79 % of the players, 9.33% of the winners. Second place is really off, don't know what happened there. Third place is again closer to the number of players. I guess second place caused the below average itcpoints.

Average ITCPoints for all players: 62
Average ITCPoints for Drukhari: 58

So drukhari were quite average in this statistic, if you ignore the abysmal result for second place.

I'm wondering how these stats might have changed over time - my guess is that we were doing very well early on in 8th edition, but as Codexes and FAQs have happened we've got weaker over time.

I'd be very surprised if a mainly Dark Eldar army had won any tournaments over the past couple of months.

True, but that also means the last couple of months pulled the statistics down to slightly belowe average for the drukhari and it is something you could say about almost any index army.
Some of the index armies have a better winning ration compared to the player percentage, chaos demons, sisters. Some worser: T'au, Necrons. Overall Drukhari seems to be pretty average positioned for the index armies, not bad, but also not good.

Oh and something i also forgot to mention. They also have the participant numbers of 7th edition tournaments in 2017. Drukhari numbers are growing, we are on place 6 for fastest growing faction. On place 3 if you look at the index armies, only Ynnari and Orks are growing faster. And it was to be expected, that Ynnari is at the top, but it seems only the asuryani and eldar corsairs are swallowed up by ynnari.

Maybe GW realises the potential, one can hope.

http://variancehammer.com/2017/11/16/number-crunching-warzone-atlanta-2017/

Here's another article comparing numbers. It puts Drukahri in a slightly worse place. Though, I agree when everyone was on an index Drukahri were much closer to balanced with everyone else. We've fallen behind due to "faction" tactics, warlord traits and stratagems as well as some units getting a points decrease with a transition from index to codex.

It's good to hear Drukahri are gaining new players. I wouldn't be surprised if there is a drop in Ynnari players at tournaments due to the nerf to soulburst. I feel like many times it'll be a ynnari detatchment and the rest would be made up of Craftworld detachments as they gain the various craftworld bonuses.

With luck after necrons and Tau or Orks hopefully they will put out a new codex for us. I'm really hoping they do our release before eventually coming back to Ynnari to advance that narritive.

People are still bringing Ynnari to tournaments because Strength from Death, no matter how bad they make it or how high the tax, is still indispensable.

I'm sure we will still see Ynnari in lists. It'll be Yvraine and dark reapers more often than not.

With the LVO coming up we should be getting glimpse into the where things are at. Should be interesting. I'm looking forward to seeing what comes out of it.
