Guess what will be buffed

With our codex release, what (and how) do you optimistically think will be better?


I say:

-Wyches will be better against low WS target
-New low-cost generic HQ (maybe court of archon moved to HQ slot)
-Vect
-Special rule allowing auras in raiders
-More psychic denying rules
-More wounds on grotesques. Regen 1w/turn
-Some way to deepstrike pain engines

-Change +1WS combat drug for +1 to hit drug
-6++ for incubi

Reavers.... I really really hope they become cheaper/more viable. They are the reason I got into DE, and it pains me that I happen to do it right as they became hit so hard with the nerf bat.

I would love to see Cult armies get a massive buff. Plenty of other armies offer me gunlines - none of them offer me insane speeds and copious drugs. *That* is what I want most for my DE... psycho ladies and deadly beautiful machines.

Everything in Cult (except beasts) and everything in Coven (except wracks) need a massive overhaul.

Are they gonna get it ? Probably not as much as needed.

Yeah that's the issue with GW. They seem only willing to 'buff' based on current standing. In other words: if the Wyche Unit requires a 40% increase to their stat sheet to get up to speed, but GW is only willing to provide a 25% increase to any unit, then we're going to continue to be 15% under performing in the end.

This is my biggest concern, frankly.

I think we'll see a points drop on the grots, sslyth's got one and thay have more wounds!

I really hope they bring back the stuff that was in the coven supplement I'm 6th and apply the same mantra to Kabals and wych cults, keeping power from pain across the board.

isn't an extra 2" on most armies (and -2" on CWE) and the ability to put out a moderate number of lascannon equivalents enough for you?

Coven hit like a squeaky toy, and wych cult are more of a slap than a hit.

Considering the lack of S4, T4, 3+ armor, access to Jetpacks... it's really funny to compare bloodbrides to Vanguard veterans.

They are both elite versions of a standard assault troop.

Really, the comparisons should be based on differences from stock model (assault Marine to Vanguard, Wych to Bloodbride) rather than comparing them to each other statwise.

I know. My point is that Vanguard Veterans are actually a Veteran upgrade, while BB are not.

In other words, it's painfully funny to consider that Vanguards are what BB could be ^^

yup.

I'm not expecting them to be buffed as such, but I would like to see the Court of the Archon have a bit more synergy. They should be able to operate as a single unit, but still count as a character for shooting. Essentially they already do, as each is an individual character. Each one should then confer a different buff on the group, in the same way that Deathwatch kill teams work.

That way the Archon (and his retinue) could be tailored for different roles and boosted to be a real force in game, or taken cheaply on his own for a pretty average S3 T3 HQ choice.

Mandrakes will be able to deepstrike anywhere on the map where there is terrain, even if it is within 9 inches of an enemy unit.

Hellions drop in point cost

Psychic phase allows our units a free advance for each cult or coven unit.

Splinter cannons become rapid fire 4

Grots have 5 wounds

Court of the Archon gains synergy, making you want to take at least 1 of each

Rapid fire 4 and 5 wound grotesque would be awesome!

The lhaeman buffing the poison of the court would be nice, Ur-Ghul increases attacks for the court, sslyth buffs strength, and maybe medusae could increase BS is the court or maybe give them -1 to hit.
You could mix and match what you wanted to buff then.
Obviously the archon would gain the same buffs if he was near them.

I really hope they do something with the hex rifle as well.

The thing that will be buffed the most is my archon’s ego.
In all seriousness I think coven stuff will get some changes for the better, like a point decrease for talos/cronos.

As someone compiling his first army right now, this and the aesthetic is what attracted me to DE.

Anyway, some fun ideas:

* Mandrake-themed or incubi- / murder-shrine-themed HQ
* Model with a new role that is themed as either of the above
* Any new model that employs some sort of fun new glass-cannon mechanic.
* Mandrake vehicle (maybe just coalesced shadows?) or incubi vehicle ("Deepstrike Shrine")

At minimum, I hope that kabals don't get worse.
