Horde of The Red Horror

Hi, all. I’ve been a longtime lurker of the forums, posted some and even made a project long a while back... http://www.thedarkcity.net/t14694-fabius-bile-the-coalition-of-covens-army

However I have since moved on and began to completely strip and re-paint my entire Kabalite.
I’ve had this Force since like 4th edition so most of the models are from the old range with some very few exceptions.

So here we go: the Red Horde, the Bloody Host, the Cult of the Sixth Circle, the Horde of the Red Horror... it’s a Kabal known by many names, a mysterious legion of bloody Dark Eldar marauders. Their Lord, Archon Jockey, is often seen as a blood crazed worshipper of Khaine, some whisper he is a mighty champion of Khorne, while others think he may even be a horrific worshipper of the Great Enemy, She Who Shirsts....

Small update. Just finished my Talos Pain Engine...

Man, I have always hated old models, but these are excellent. The colours are really working for them.

@RedRegicide: Thank you! It could just be my nostalgia, but I have a love for the old Dark Eldar range of models... I feel that they mix very well with the new ones and have some character and violence - like the skin mask wearing Archon. (I’ve owned all these old models since I began playing, so at the time they were the only Dark Eldar!)

Here’s another update. I just finished a Conversion that I had sitting in my shelf for almost a year or so now... i think I may have posted him in my other Haemonculus coven project log, but here he is finished!

Alright, well this will be the last of my updates for a little while now... or at least until I get some more time/motivation to complete my latest project, which is in its very early conceptual stages. More to come on that, hopefully soon!

So here’s another update. This is my latest project:



This guy. When the Dark Eldar got the massive update in 5th edition I loved the new codex cover art. I believe it’s depicting Asdrubael Vect - and I’ve always loved the Archon’s design... I also thought he would make a cool model, so I finally made an attempt myself after all of these years.






He is more or less inspired by the Artwork then a replica, but I ended up being pretty satisfied with the result. So this guy will be my Kabal’s Overlord and Warlord. I’ll be painting him very soon.... more to come!

Thanks!! As for the 5th edition codex... that book was the closest thing to a Dark Eldar art book lol it had so much evocative imagery and art - the background was eqully awesome. This Vect cover art was just soo cool, but at the time I just wasn’t confident enough to try and make him. I’m glad you’re enjoying it though!

Just for kicks, here’s some pictures of a game me and my buddy had last night.






His (beautifully painted) Dark Angels vs the True Kin... a very close match that ended in a blood bath death pit in the center of the board... but the Dark Eldar were victorious... the Haemonculus laboratories are full of fresh Astardes flesh to create more wracks.

Our next game will set the scene for the Dark Angels attempt to rescue their tortured brothers.. hopefully with their minds still intact at the very least..

A small update. I managed to paint my Archon... I think I had the most fun converting and painting this model and can’t wait for him to lead my Raids!..... more to come!
