Sustained Aussault

Dear mighty Archons,

again I have a question. The "Sustained Assault" narrative play mission rule allows bringing back fallen units. Are the new spawned units the same unit or really a new one.

Example: A voidraven died and comes back, can it use the Void Mine a second time?

More complicated: Urien Rakarth and Casket of Flensing would be the same case. But an army can only have one Urien Rakarth. Sounds a little bit odd to me that a new Urien spawns?

What do you think about this?

THe unit countds as destroyed when its removed, so my feeling is that the new unit counts as an entirely new one for all regards. So a Voidraven would be new, with a new Void Mine ready for use.

I am with squidmaster here. And siince Assault is usualy more a narrative game and not an competetive one, I would say no recycling special characters (although for some armies like Tyranids and Dark eldar you can easely come up with an exception since in the lore they really bring the dead back)

This was an issue back when genestealer cult could bring back models on the board : they would kill the models equipped with demolition charges, then resurrect them to reuse new charges. It got faq'ed and was no longer possible.
However, the fact that this is narrative play probably means that gw will never bother to clarify, so it's pretty safe to say : yes you can.

The mission represents the overwhelming numbers, so it really is another Voidraven coming in from the board edge. Again, I'm going to be an echo and say yes that means your one use items are restored.

Not recycling special characters seems reasonable too.
