| So everyone got a 6+++ turn 1. Interesting. So Black Heart can reroll advance and charge turn 1. Wow.... | |

| Flaw #1: the article still talks about Trueborn as if they're in the Codex. Flaw #2: a 6+++ on a T3 unit (Wyches) does not a tarpit make. Seriously, listen to episode 43 of Splintermind, Thor has some great insight on what to take and leave from 1d4chan tactica. | |

| Blaster on the Archon as well, you can no longer do that, i'm going to bite the bullet and run everything in the codex as is, not taking legacy stuff from the index. Eventually they will put a stop to it, and i'm optimistic that they will release new models for things they have removed eventually.
The rest of that article is a pretty good breakdown though.

| This as nothing to do specifically with the new codex. It's the DE tactical article for 8th edition and so it is based mostly on the index and slowly getting updated with the information from the new Codex (it's a community effort)
There is plenty of such articles on 4chan, for other factions and editions

I think most of the article was written for the index, so a lot of things won't have been updated yet.

I think most of the article was written for the index, so a lot of things won't have been updated yet. As do I. I do think it's worth pointing that out, as someone less familiar with the army or 8th edition might read the current article as a whole and take that information to their games.

| Thing that jumps out at me are no Coven Ravagers. Ouch. I wonder if the FW tanks will be FAQd to likewise be Kabal exclusive. | |

Once people start crying about having their characters sniped by a Tantalus I suspect the FAQ will be pretty quick.

| Yeah this article doesn't look like it's quite yet updated with all the codex info, really impossible to do a full tactica like 1d4chan does before we all start getting games in.
That being said I didn't see the release the beasts stratagem anywhere else, that's a nifty little stratagem if you're running a big horde of beasts.

Lots of potent things in the book to win with, no need to try to squeeze advantage out of poorly-curated FW rules.

Would you make it only allow kabal unit in it?

Well, anyone could ride in it as with the other transports, but for now I will treat it as a Ravager and marked only for Kabal. I just ordered mine, and it's about a 10-day wait until they make it and ship it, so I expect a FAQ by then anyway. GW/FW never bothered to remove Coven/Cult from Reavers either, so the Tantalus may remain this interactions terror we're discussing. For what it's worth, I do recognize my meta is not typical. We are a 30K group that got back into 40K with 8th edition, and while we use matched play rules, our games have a very strong focus on narrative and fluff-adherence. So I am blessed in that regard. Maybe I'm just paranoid. I know that the most vocal posters on any forum tend to be the ones who play the least amount of actual games. These folks live in a hypothetical global meta, and for every guy who is actually going to use the sniper Tantalus (or have one used against them), there are 100 others blathering about how "omg OP lulz" it is at every opportunity. BOLS is a perfect example... I would venture maybe 20% of the posters own the rules, maybe 20% of those actually read them, and maybe 20% of those actually roll dice. So far, GW has responded the same way to any FW model that becomes popular or problematic, and that is not to adjust the rules, but to nerf it to oblivion with point hikes. I don't want the Tantalus to become 666 points or something similarly stupid.
