Hey,

as I'm pretty new to the 8th I want to post my aproach with the new codex here and get some critique. The list contains what I always wanted to bring on the table (archon raiding partry with cult/coven support) as well as models I already have. For my green eyes it looks kinda solid, but I'm sure you guys will see some issues I cant. Every constructive critizsm is much appreaceated.

I'd get that succubus her own ride, maybe with the archon and his court. Then those wyches can have weapons

Also ravagers should go with Blackheart +living muse relic for 6+++save and re rolls of 1 to hit and wound

Thanks for the input. The idea of the succubus in the Wytch unit was to not have all my heavy hitting infantry in one squad (inccubi+archon+succubus) + (Wytches) but split them in two (inccubi+archon) and (wytches+succubus). The miss out on the Wytch weapons is a drawback though. Its worth considering bring them up to 10 and do something else with the succubus.

The Black Heart Archon is actually supposed to join the Ravagers to give his aura for re-rolls and I'll put one of the raiders at his disposal so he can change the place fast if needed and the raider can also benefit from his aura. The Flayed Skull Dracon is supposed to join the inccubi for some close quarter combat action.

That said so after reading the codex again.. the <Kabal> keyword gets replaced with the specific kabal keyword. So the Overlord aura on my Black Heart Archon would not work on my Flayed skull Ravagers. I think they swap the equipment on them and let the flayed skull stay behind with the ravagers and the Black Heart seek the close combat. Only bummer here is that my Labyrinthine Cunning Warlord now lives the dangerous live of a close combat unit.

For the relic.. I'm not sure. The archon himself has a aura for reroll for on hitting. Not sure if that precious relic space to also reroll ones on wound. My idea was that the close combat archon would benefit more from the djinblade.. but considering how often the ravagers shoot and how often the dracon whill fight in close combat, living muse might be worth it more. My idea also was to exchange his artefact for the helm of spite if I face a psi heavy list.

Another Idea I had was to replace the Sslyth with two Lhameans.. I really like the Sslyth model and have him already painted but the mortal wounds on the ladies sounds really good.

Edit

I took a closer look on the living muse relic. It is black heart archon only and only works on black heart units.

I really wanted the +3" movement on my flayed skull detachment but to get it on all transports, I need the 3 Ravagers to open up enough transport choices (archon+inccubi+3*ravager = 5 transports). So the choice here would be either all transports +3" or re-roll all ones on wound rolls for ravagers.
