| Ok, i've played almost every army in the book now with my DE except for Eldar and Nids. I would love to have a go against nids as I know that their large monsters will be no match for splinters, but what Im concerned about is numbers? The IG horde I played was a close call simply due to numbers- but they were slow, Orks again numbers were an issue but again they were slow so were no threat but Nids?
I've played them before with Eldar and I know that there can be a lot of those purple things and they can come at you very fast and without plenty of firepower that can be dangerous.
I play with plenty of raiders all mounted with troops which should give an advantage over them, but what else / other tactics or problems do people know about when facing the swarm?

| You cant nuke them... I know they are not the most interesting things to tourture... and they may leave acid stains on your carpet but they are still slaves ripe for the picking.
Grub. I would suggest shooting them. Start with some splinter spam and end with a bunch of missiles. I would go necro toxin to add more poison.

| Actually, I've found that a combination of blaster Warrior squads in Venoms, Splinter Warriors in Raiders and Wyches works rather well against the gribblies. Wyches can throw out enough attacks (especially with Gauntlets) to put a serious dent in any Gaunt brood and still be fairly resilient against a counterattack, and splinter spam is generally a good idea against Nids anyway. Haven't tried it against Genestealers yet, but I imagine the best way to deal with them would be to nail 'em with templates, then hose down the remnants with splinter fire. | |

| I just play regular Venomspam list. Have tabled Tyranids every time I have played them. They shouldnt really have much chance against us tbh. There is no reason for list tailoring at all here, just know your target priority and you will be fine | |

| @theblackjackal Indeed, Wyches (especially with FNP) can Fearless-kill most horde units. Especially weak, like Termagants. | |

Brilliance here. With poison and darklights we eat up the big bugs early and quick. Then it's just a bit of attrition as we zoom around in our flying death boats mowing down the bugs as they try to catch us. Proof positive Commoragh is safe from Nids - the bugs can't handle fast enemies.

| Yeah, you all seem to be thinking along the lines of what I was thinking- great minds and all that. I really like my bloodbride squad/ wych squads and know they can devastate anything but how would they fair against genestealers because I know that those 4 armed things really can put up a good fight? | |

| Not when facing things that have inv and possibly FNP.
They have only 5+ save too... If You Throw Enough Spaghetti at the Wall, Some of It Is Bound to Stick. Also Splinter Rifles and Cannons have field day with them.
Also, my nid buddy often give them (or more than half of them) Toxin Sacs, which are downgrade vs. T3. Similar with Tervigon and Termagants - not such big improvement if You already wound on 4+ or better. However vs. most armies toxin sacs are better, so if he wouldn't tailor list specifically he may nerf his CC units pretty bad (pay more for worse/same results).

| Why are you charging close combat specialists? DE put out enough high volume AP fire to shred most Tyranids without ever leaving their vehicles. In particular, Tyranids have nothing but short ranged anti-tank. Once their heavy support is gonna, they can't do a lot to your transports. | |

| Because if you never charge them, how are your Wyches gonna get pain tokens? Besides, it's fun to stomp a Genestealer unit's face in with Wyches - helps remind the bugs who the best assault unit in the game really is. | |
