Super excited with the new codex, but really miss the trueborn. Since codex is supposed to replace index does this mean that Trueborn is gone for 8th edition now?

No you can still take the Index options, apart from CoM (see the tau faq, they got the same problem). They ofc cost the same as in the index but the weapon options you outfit them got the same point cost and stats as in the codex.

So Blasterborn comes in at 28 ppm vs Scourge 29ppm, making it pointless. But, on the other hand, Trueborn her Obsessions. And 24” Blasters are hugely more survivable than 18”. (Rapid Fire and charge ranges).
