| I read a suggestion in another topic referring to Fly-By stratagem vs characters which stated that you could make a loop move with your unit in order to trigger it. Let's say I have my reavers at the start of the game 24" away from an enemy unit and it's my turn. I advance with reavers (18"+8"); use 24.5" to move over closest enemy models and remaining 1.5" to finish my move more than 1" away from enemy. Can this move be done or will it be insufficient/wrong for the terms of the stratagem? | |

| Only requirements is to advance and move at least 1 model over 1 other model. | |

| So I just have to graze a units periphery to unleash all 12 (or 20, in case of Hellions) Fly-By attacks. That's nice What a pity it can't be combined with Fire and Fade, as that doesn't allow you to Advance But I can combine it with the Red Grief Obsession and charge afterwards. | |

If the rule states that the unit must pass "over" the enemy unit, can you explain how can this be? I would love to use this strategy, but seems my meta won't accept it.

I would love to use this strategy, but seems my meta won't accept it. 1 Part of 1 models base (or Hull if using Hover) needs to move over, the full unit doesnt need too. The rule doesnt say the "full unit'', it says "if the unit flys over any unit" Just like if you have 1 model within 1" of a unit, your unit is in combat.

| Units don't have to move in a straight line right? They can technically move in a series of straight lines, or if needed a curve right? | |

Any direction(s) up to their movement, you can move in a perfect circle and end up back where you started if you wanted.

| They did insist for Jink a model needed to finish more than 6" from its starting location, several editions ago, but unless there is some kind of note of that nature then moving in any direction including back and forth is perfectly legitimate. | |
