| Did we ever come to a final verdict on whether or not you can use this stratagem without running a Black Heart detachment? My latest grip on it was that the RAW say you can. Thoughts/Clarifications? | |

| Main rulebook FAQ says: "Also note that the only requirement to have access to Stratagems is that you have a Detachment of the appropriate Faction."
That sounds like you can Agents of Vect with any Drukhari detachment.
It could still be read as ambiguous if you were to consider <KABAL> as part of the Faction though.

| Anybody have a link for this ruling? I've got a tournament this weekend and would be fantastic to have it on hand when the argument comes up | |

| To play a Devil's advocate, how do we define "faction" in this sense? Our normal Strategems are labeled as "Drukhari Strategem," meaning you need a Drukhari detachment to unlock it.
However, Agents of Vect is labeled as "Black Heart Strategem," saying to me that you need a Black Heart detachment to unlock it.
After all, why even put that little "Drukhari Strategem" onto every single one if you have access to every one simply by owning the book?

| All other sub-faction specific stratagems either effect units of that sub-faction or must occur within x" of units of that sub-faction. Hence, they are only usable by someone with a detachment of that sub-faction. AoV does not target a unit or even occur on the battlefield so it's not restricted in that way. I have absolutely no doubt that it should be restricted but at the moment it is not and it would require a specific errata or FAQ to make it so. | |

| Curiously, this excellent stratagem and the ubiquity of the Black Heart Ravagers + Archon spearhead detachment adds the sense that the Kabal of the Black Heart, and thus Vect's direct influence, really do pervade the entire Dark City.
Best codex for representing the fluff on the tabletop yet.

Strickly speaking, it's enough to have one UNIT of the appropriate keyword to use the stratagems. So by using a brigade detachment with at least one unit from each kabal, cult and coven, you can use them all (tho on/with reference to the correct units). Agents of Vect is a bit tricky, but as of now legal. Will maybe see a FAQ to say "You need to field an Archon from Black Hearth to use"?
