Mangler Squig, Beastmen Monsters....... Discuss....

I'm totally underwhelmed by all of them, it's nice that we are getting some releases rather than then them just trying to force all of the big boxes down our throats (which of course, they are). It's nice that Beast players are getting something new.

Models? Shocking, at least in my view.

Except the models they are getting are for the underpowered and overpriced section of their list. Sure I'm happy they are actually getting the models but not sure how many they will sell as the Beasts rare section is universally accepted as being junk.

Yeah... I play beastmen but the cygor or jabberslythe aren't worth it - the ghorgon only just. And that said, neither of the three monsters IMO looks good enough to buy anyway.

I'm not surprised that crap units get models while good not... at first at least. Remember how much Vyper/Warriors conversions we had before GW made Venom/Scourges?

Sell s*** so people who want other unit buy them for conversions (and then re-pay for official modelsm, also happened with Venoms/Scourges), people that want to use them are happy (also try to build army around that crap, so $$$) while collectors can have interesting models too. I've seen enough for last 11 years (ie. as long as I remember), probably that happen from 20.

On the other hand I doubt Beasts sell as good as GW wanted, Karma is one fat b...

Where are the pictures for these? Dont see it on GW's site. Also, is there a place where those big boxes are actually listed?

Don't know about the box sets, they don't seem to be listed in the Gift Guides or anywhere else yet.

Pics of the Beastmen and O&G are just scans from WD, originally from a French forum but now on Warseer (courtesy eldargal & ihavetoomuchminis), etc:

the ghorgons look like they could be good, but those paint schemes are bland as heck and don't seem to do the model any favours.

not sure on the jabberslythe though, not getting a great feel from those pics.

the squigs look suitbaly hilariously orcy, but too much cash for a relatively cheap expendable/throw away unit.

The Ghorgon looks like a great kit, and its more likely a great kit with lots of extras (because its a plastic "multi-kit") but, the finecast Jabberslythe looks to much like the skaven abomination (maybe a conversion target for Skaven warlords) and even worse its a giant blob of finecast, so most likely only minor changes are available in the kit.

I agree with the posters above that a $50 ish dollar mangler squid is to expensive. If it comes with 2-3 the price is better.

Having looked at army shots with the Mangler in, it's huge, you can see why it is so expensive.

I actually rather like the Ghorgon now whereas the other two just haven't grown on me at all.

Looking forward to the Badlands book definitely and the Skullvane Manse, but unfortunately the book is While Stocks Last >.>

However, I am really disappointed in the new Beastmen rare models overall, though the Jabberslythe is in some way likeable.
