Voidraven Scythes vs Lances

I finally managed to amass the funds and now have a Voidraven on the way, but I'm unsure on whether to build it with the dark scythes or the void lances. My general thoughts are the lances as it's the only access we have to shooting above S8, but I would appreciate people's opinions on the matter

Why not magnetise and have both choices?

I don't have the tools to magnetise with and personally I would prefer not magnetsing

You don't need to magnetize the Voidraven, the weapon bitz nestle snugly in their sockets to allow you to swap Scythes and Lances at will.

I prefer Void Lances, and always buy the Voidraven Missiles upgrade. A lot of my traditional Dark Lance platforms are now running Disintegrators or, in the case of Scourges, Haywire Blasters, but I do want to have a certain number of Lances on hand and the Voidraven's S9 Lance makes it an easy pick for me.

It’s our only source of ranged S9, which is ever more important with Knights stomping around.

I've found both to be great. I think you'll be happy either way.

If you need more anto-heavy armor, the lances win. If you need to table mid-toughness, the scythes are nice.

Range for the lances is a definite plus though.

Pre-Knights I preferred Dark Scythes. Now Void Lances instead.

I personally have enough HWB's and HWC that i dont care about S9. I also would add a farseer if i go against Knights, but no one i my area really has picked them up yet (many of them but many are not playing them) so i dont need to worry.


I really like the Scythes, its kinda fits the feel of the bomber for me.

In regards to the actual construction of the key has anyone else experienced major issues with the 2 parts of the main chassis of the jet just not fitting together

My first Voidraven fit almost like a glove, the second needed some filing and space filling with greenstuff but nothing major.

Have you tried using elastics to help the 2 parts glue together along most of their shared surfaces, and then file and fill wherever it's warped?

Managed to get it to fit right in the end. Just got rid of the slots turbines on the top half, then it for just fine
