Advice vs tyranids (2000 pts)

Wondering if I should take some flyers against nids so that I can hit hive guard early in the game. My list right now has 6 talos engines but I'm thinking dropping 3 talos for an air wing might be useful. What do you guys/girls think?

I always take at least 2 fliers against tyrannids for the exact reason you point out. Between biovores and hiveguard both hiding behind LOS terrain in the back field, being able to zoom over and attack them.


3 talos are usually plenty.

My list is usually a blackheart battalion with ravagers and the trimmings. Black heart air wing with two RWJF and one void raven plus a prophets of flesh battalion with grots and/or talos

I have yet to lose to nids (though have gotten to a draw once, but only when i agreed not to use Agents of Vect. With Vect, their main strengths are easily stopped)

Not with Drukhari, if you know how to deploy and move, you will manage it pretty well

i was once, swarmlord let them move twice, twenty deep struck next to me, swarmed around my transports, killed them easily and the mdoels inside were slain because i couldnt get out

A good advice is to sacrifice some of the Kabals inside. Just deploy them out from the Venoms, and use them as meatshield around your entire deploy, forcing your opponent 9" out from them.
It's better to sacrifice some Kabals in this way than lose your entire army for a first turn DS charge!

You can consider to DS some Venoms with the stratagems too, depends about your list.
