| I've been slowly but surely working on a DE army. I recently got a very nice Secret Santa gift: a nicely converted Ravager! I'd like to start playing this army, so I have designed a list that has a bit of leeway...and I actually own and have most of the models built.
HQ:
The Baron!
Haemonculi
3 Wracks
20 Hellions -Helliarch with PW
7 Wyches -Shardnet -Hekatrix -Raider
5 Warriors -Blaster -Venom +Splinter Cannon x2
5 Warriors -Blaster -Venom +Splinter Cannon x2
Scourge x5 -Haywire Blaster x2
Razorwing -Flickerfield
Razorwing -Flickerfield
Ravager -Flickerfield
So it comes to 1495, and there are a couple things I might need. Hekatrix may need an Agonizer and PGL, or I'll just drop her for Flickerfileds for the Raider. Conversely I could drop Flickerfields from the HS for the Hekatrix...but I feel that they (Flickerfields) might be more beneficial. The Wyches are there just to expand my troops options and to tarpit until shootiness happens. I could drop them completely, and perhaps put another unit of Warriors on the board?

| Quick thoughts:
- I don't quite get what you use the haem + wracks for...if you're thinking for the wyches raider, I'd drop the wracks (3 of them won't get that far anyway) and give the haem a liquifier.
- Get some games going; you'll love those hellion!

| I take it the Heami and wracks are to give the Hellions and baron FnP and FC at the start of the game. It's a sound tactic.
I'd say that the list is slightly to heavily balanced towards AI at the minute. You have 2 venoms, 2 razorwings with missiles and then the Hellions which will give you 40 splinter shots as well.
I'd suggest dropping 1 razorwing and put in an additional ravager. I also think that 20 hellions is a bit too much at this level, I'd be looking at around 14 as being more suitable. Dropping 6 frees up 96 points which along with the left over from the razorwing/ravager swap gives you enough for a blaster/warrior in raider unit. This will give you a bit more AT which you need to open up transports to let the venoms and hellions get to work.

| You nailed it kenny For purely 'My Toys' reasons, I don't want to drop the Razorwings. I see where you are getting at with AI. What I can do is bring the Hellions down to 14, drop the Wyches and put 5 Warriors in a Raider with a Blaster as well as pick up 5 more Scourge w/Haywire Blasters. HQ: The Baron! Haemonculi 3 Wracks 14 Hellions -Helliarch with PW 5 Warriors -Blaster -Venom +Splinter Cannon x2 5 Warriors -Blaster -Venom +Splinter Cannon x2 5 Warriors -Blaster -Raider Scourge x5 -Haywire Blaster x2 Scourge x5 -Haywire Blaster x2 Razorwing -Flickerfield Razorwing -Flickerfield Ravager -Flickerfield | |

| I like the second list better than the first. | |

| I still don't get the point of the 3 strong wrack unit. The wording in sharing the pain is quite clear about distributing pain tokens. You can't start your haemi with the wracks, leave the unit, take 2 tokens with you and pass them on to the hellions for their FC. You have to spread them as evenly as possible meaning that one token will remain with the wracks. | |

| You start the Haemi with the Hellions, and he leaves his pain token with them. He leaves the unit. The Hellions then Move.
You also have deployed The Baron with the Wracks, he leaves with their pain token and joins the Hellions. You now have Hellions with 2 pain tokens.

| Ok, I missed that. My concern would still be that you're doing a little to much just for that FC. While it does make hellions pretty killer you also have a more or less useless wrack unit and a haemonculus running around the board being easy KPs. If you're willing to take the risk, give it a shot and tell us how it works. The list really looks fine otherwise. Maybe swicht one RW for another ravager, but that's personal taste I guess. | |

| The Hami will join the Wracks after, and make them scoring. Basically they'll just find some nice, out of sight place and go to ground if threatened. I might see if I can find 5 points for a Venom Blade, but I'm not so sure it's even worth it Giving Hellions FC is pretty huge, especially as most Tanks have rear armor of 10. Even with 14 in the unit, I can spread them out and multicharge tanks as well as a unit of troops. I'll position myself so that very few Hellions are in B2B with the troops, and hopefully shake a few tanks and stay safe in combat. Maybe get lucky and pop one or two, especially with the Baron. Even if I do manage to wipe out a troops unit as well as shake tanks, I'll get a free 'slingshot' move! | |

| Wracks don't need Haemonculus in their squad to be scoring. They are troops the minute you include a Haemonculus in your list. | |

| Dez, you have it nailed. I use exactly the same Heami/wrack combo, in exactly the same way. If you can get the wracks out of LoS then the enemy has to expend a rediculous amount of time and effort to get rid of them. I've found the often survive to the end of the game. Objective placement is important for this to work, just remember to place the objectives correctly at the start. A sneaky tactic I've found to work with them, is too not refer to or even look at them during the game, your opponent can often forget they are even there. Works more often than you would think during tournaments | |

| Sorry Siticus, knew that just edited what I had typed incorrectly. Another one of my favorite tricks is to talk a unit up, make it sound like the Be All End All It's Gonna Wreck Your Army unit. Tell them quick snippets of great victories, and how this unit is going to kill something of theirs (look for their favorite/best modelled centerpiece). Baiting can be such a fun thing to do, it's even better when it works | |

| So tonite is my first time playing with Dark Eldar...and I haven't played a game against them, either. I've tried to design this list with synergy in mind. My request to all of you: What strategies/tactics would you use with this list? As an aside, I don't think psychological tricks are going to work on my opponent...he has a Phd in Psychology | |

Razorwing -Flickerfield
Ravager -Flickerfield I like your list, No blasterborn and no 3x Ravagers is refreshing! Now I'm going to go total hypocrite and suggest dropping one of those Razorwings for a Ravager, and with those spare points you can get a Venom for your Wracks. Gain another AI Skimmer, a ride for your wracks, and a dark lance (assuming your razorwings were DL instead of dissies). if you can free up another ten points to get a liquifier on the Haemie all the better! But i totally understand the awesomeness of the razorwing, so stick with what works man! I'm going to have to try this list out, looks like fun
