Kill team de player wants to upgrade to 40k proper

So I wanted to get into the full game of 40k but I didn’t want to do it all at once so I wanted to start small like a 1k force maybe. I’m in a pretty tight budget so I don’t want to spend more than I need to.

I currently own
15 kabalites Warriors ( two are sybarites)
10 Wyches ( with special weapons and hekatrix)
Lelith Hesperax
x2 succubi ( one I got thrown in with my wyches the other is from raging heroes)

Where do I go from here for a small 40k game maybe 1k to start

You already have a good amount of infantry for a 1k game, all you need is an archon (preferably 2, to run a battalion) which can be converted, and transports.

you could run say:

Kabal batallion

2 archons
3x5 Kabalites
3 venoms
2 raiders

Cult patrol
2 succubi/1 succubi and lelith
1x9 or 2x5 wyches

After that, maybe go for reavers, ravagers or coven depending on your preferred playstyle to bring it up to 1k (a few more wyches to run a cult battalion too wouldn't hurt)

How do you use wyches without them turning into hamburger helper?

All dark eldar infantry except for coven units really need to be in transports, I'd usually recommend raiders for wyches since wych units are better at 10 strong than 5.

To get the most bang for your buck, I would suggest 2 raiders and 2 archons.


That gives you a very solid kabal batt - 2 5 man squads of warriors in one raider, one 5 man and two archons in the other.

From there, lots of ways you can go. I'd probably suggest a pair of ravagers

Second and third the call for transports. Pair of Raiders, pair of Venoms. Our army depends on transports like no other.

Yeah, if you don't have vehicles a fully bevvy is probably a good idea. Venoms, Raiders, and then Ravagers once you've got your troops off the ground.
