Can a Haemonculus still have Parasite's Kiss?

In the Codex, it says that only a model with Splinter Pistol can replace it with a Parasites Kiss. A Haemonculus used to have it in the Index, but it got replaces with a Stinger Pistol. And a Haemonculus used to even be the only character that could have a Parasites Kiss at all in previous editions. However, I can't find a faq about it, or find it in Warhammer Legends. Does this mean the Parasite's Kiss isn't an option anymore?

Archon and Succubus can take it too, so its fully ok.

Just looked at legends, we can still take Index gear for the Haemonculus

Am I losing my mind? That document doesn't mention the Haemonculus at all. Trueborn and Bloodbrides; legends gear for Archons and Beastmasters. That's all there is in the linked document.

So based on that, I would say a haemonculus definitely cannot use parasites kiss. He has no access to a splinter pistol and therefore cannot replace it with a relic.

Silly, but that's how it reads to me. Plenty happy to be wrong though...

I am making a list with only Coven and Harlequins. I don't have an Archon or Succubus, so that doesn't help.
And no Sekac, it doesn't mention the Haemonculus indeed. Your splintermind is fine.

I think you are miss reading it. This document is the Legends document, while for now (as noting in the first page) it is still match play able, they do not recommend you play with them for organised play.

Not every "index" option auto became legends, only items/gear/datasheets in these documents are "Legends". If it is not in this document then they are still fully allowed for all types of play, via the index. As i said, he is not legends, so therefore its still able to be on the Haemonculus via the Index which he has a splinter pistol.

EDIT: Note that even tho many Index options are still 100% viable, some organised events are saying no index other than FW, this is a house rule and not an official rule.

Oh, I gotcha. Wow that is an incredibly convoluted way to approach it. Either index or codex unless it's mentioned in the document, in which case you can still use it, but it's Legends.

Why not go "Everything index is Legends, unless otherwise noted in this document."? Easier to write, easier to understand, and doesn't require constantly cross-referencing every choice between 3 documents to see if it's allowed.

I'm not sure and no one is sure. A lot of them that stayed made zero sense (like Flying Rippers and Shrieks from nids) but then they take out iconic unit upgrades like PGL for Archon or Bikes for captains even tho they sold bike captains (which are now gone with this release). They also kept some Sm version of Trueborns (Its a unit that uses another units kit....).

It was a huge discussion when they first released it last year, and it boiled down to "WTF are they doing?"

Thanks for the explanation. Can't say it became much clearer, but at least I now know it's not just me.

Also, Battlescribe apparently still considers it an option. And since I only play casual games, I guess that will have to be good enough.

I thought it was weird that battlescribe never marked that as a Legends build, I just chalked it up to one of those quirks it has. Now I know why!
