I'll be having my first match since January (and the first with Dark Eldar for much longer) tomorrow and this is what I thought about. Strongly inspired by the blog from HERO as you will no doubt swiftly see yourselves ^^

Play it to get used to it. Just keep playing as many games as you can b.c 9th will be out in a couple months so all tactics will change in list building. If you can get your units rules down well then the transition will be much easier for you.

Looks good so far, I would say keep building for 1500 point lists in prep for 9th.

I'll be releasing a series of articles soon to talk about my impressions of 9th so far.. some of it will be good, I promise!

I'll take it out tonight against AdMech and on Sunday against Eldar, I suppose. Those this might become a revenge match against Death Guard as well. We'll see

1500p is mostly an adaptation to time limitations. I mostly play in the evenings and we only have about 2-3h time (and I'm a very slow player :/), so to lift the stress a little we cut the point limit to 1500p. Less things to think about make for a faster play!

How'd your games go?

The game against AdMech was an uphill battle ... it started with the words "I don't know if this is a hard competitive list..."
It ended turn 2 12:8 for AdMech because it had gotten late, but we ran a quick estimation of the events in turn 3 and it would have been 14:11 for AdMech, but with a lone Ravager, an Archon and some Warriors left against his core shooting units, it'd only gotten worse from there
I'll write a battle report for it as soon as I find some time.

The second battle was against Death Guard. I went the other way round - I had the competitive list against a more fluffy one. The details can be read here.
