Is anybody actually going to subscribe to the NEXT streaming service?

If you want the apps and the tournament stuff then it's not badly priced. Personally I'm not really interested though.

I hadn't even heard of Warhammer+ so I took a look out of interest. For anyone who hasn't heard of it (copied from the site):
Quote :
In short, with a Warhammer+ subscription you’ll get:
1) A wealth of Warhammer animation 2) Weekly in-house Warhammer hobby shows 3) A digital vault of classic Warhammer publications and White Dwarf issues 4) Full access to Warhammer Apps (that’s Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer Age of Sigmar, with more to come!) 5) Premium access to our official events 6) Exclusive subscriber offers 7) A free exclusive Citadel miniature worth at least £25* every year 8 ) Access to a second exclusive subscriber miniature
Warhammer+ launches on the 25th of August** and is only £4.99/$5.99 (USD)* a month – or just £49.99/$59.99 (USD)* when you take advantage of an annual subscription.
As for me:
1) This feels like paying to watch a game trailer. 2) This feels like paying to watch an advert. 3) Might be nice if you're into that sort of thing. Can't say it's for me. 4) *Looks at Battlescribe*. That's a no from me, I'm afraid. 5) zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz 6) "Yes, yes yes! For subscribers only, it's Full Price Week here at Games Workshop!" 7) I've got five quid that says it's a Primaris Lieutenant. "For which year?" you ask. Every year. 8 ) For anyone wondering - you can pick either a big Ork dude or an Imperial sniper (might be a Vindicare but it looks more like someone bolted a really long silencer to the end of a lasgun) on a really stupid base. Neither are from my army, obviously, and I have no great desire to own them.
All joking aside, I should probably say that I'm not generally into subscriber stuff in general. I don't, for example, play subscription games. I like to pay for a game and own it, not own it for a month or so. I say this because it means any sort of subscription has to offer something pretty impressive for me to even consider it, and this . . . doesn't.
Each to their own, of course. But if I was going to spend £50-60 on 40k, I'd far rather just spend it on Dark Eldar models or on other stuff that I'll actually use.

I mean you can just pay for one month every year or so, watch all the animations and then unsubscribe.

Maybe I will in a year, because right now they seem to be releasing them on a weekly basis.

If they turn Gaunts Ghosts into an animated series, I would buy in.
Love those Ghost books, would work really well with 1 season per book, stripped down to 10-30min episodes. Could grab a lot of media attention for the hobby if done well.
But I doubt this would happen, so thats a Hard Pass from me.

I'm currently paying for the 40k app, even though the army builder doesn't work properly and the rules crash whenever I open up the Court of the Archon datasheet. If they can't get that working properly in what, a year?, then I have little hope that they will get all or even most of what they are promising for Warhammer+ working at launch or in the near future.

@Count Adhemar
glad to see i'm not the only one with exactly those same issues with the app. Its sad cause it's a beautiful app, and if running perfectly, will indeed be perfect. But it's still full of glitches, and even if i wrote them, they answered me back like 2 months ago, we received some updates but still the same glitches (at least now we can have our favourite retinue and more than one Master)
This lead me to one question: i thought that we could have, as an exemple, 2 Master Succubus with their own favourite retinue, the only condition being that they must be in a different detachment with a different Obsession (as per the Codex), but the app won't allows it.... The app allows me to have one Master Archon, one Master Succubus and so on, but can't have 2 Master Succubus even if i fulfill the conditions above.
Am i reading wrong the Codex or the app has a glitch?

Not sure about that particular issue but last time I tried to make a list I could still either have a master archon or some trueborn, but not both. Have they fixed that yet?

Its a glitch by the sounds of it. Battlescribe has no such issues.
Story Time:
Over here in Canada, we recently got Legal Weed. One of the main reasons for doing this was to take the money away from legalized crime. There was a lot of concern that the Black Market would still exist, even after it was Legalized. In the province of Ontario, the roll out of the Legalization was done incredibly poorly. Not enough supply, not enough distribution, etc. The Black Market thrived.
Then Ontario started to get it together, and increased production and distribution. Suddenly the Black Market died overnight. Seems that selling a product that had better quality, was cheaper, and was more convenient, managed to take out the Black Market. All it took was quality, price, and availability.
Too bad GW cant learn that lesson. Battlescribe continues to thrive, and I am considering paying the $5/year to show my support.
End Story.

on my app it is fixed, now you can have your Master Archon AND Trueborns. But the Court of the Archon still make the app crashing down and, as stated above, you can't have 2 master Archon in different Detachment with different Obsession.
For now that's about the only problem i have that needs to be fixed

I'm more onboard with Plus than I thought I would be, to be honest. The 40k app is a definite dumpster fire but I'm not going to sniff too loudly at £50 per year for that, some new content, the White Dwarf back catalogue and a free mini.
I was honestly expecting more like £10 a month just for the streaming content.

I'm probably going to be one of those people who waits a few months, binges for a single month only, then waks away and considers it again in a years time. Theres just not stuff in there I'd be that interested in. I've usually found GW's battle reports to be low quaity, and theres better ones out there, and the trove of White Dwarfs just doesn't really do it for me.

In short, yes Ill be subscribing.
More detail: 1) A wealth of Warhammer animation -I have been wanting 40k animation for decades and I will also use it as a springboard for people interested in the game and/or lore 2) Weekly in-house Warhammer hobby shows -GW plans on doing matched play as well as narritive, its rare that I see other Batreps doing historical battles from the lore. This appeals to me -Master Classes on painting are always nice, they help people learn new techniques, are good to have on when painting models yourself. -The lore streams are also appealing not only in more lore for my own favorites but to introduce me to factions/battles/etc that I missed out on or havent heard of in the deep sea of Games Workshop, especially since this will be for all games, not just 40k 3) A digital vault of classic Warhammer publications and White Dwarf issues -Starting with 2020 White Dwarfs isnt a huge interest for me but as I didnt buy them ill browse over these, if they add older WD my interest changes as it adds tons of old articles on custom modding, painting, lore, custom factions etc (depending on how far they go back). 4) Full access to Warhammer Apps (that’s Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer Age of Sigmar, with more to come!) -I am already paying for the 40k app 5) Premium access to our official events -Living in Alaska I do not get to attend official GW events. 6) Exclusive subscriber offers -coupons to reduce the cost of things im buying already? 7) A free exclusive Citadel miniature worth at least £25* every year Even if I dont have a use for the current models, simply reselling for even the cost of the non exclusive model will bring my cost down by 50% on the yearly subscription. Or, I can gift them to friends with the armies or local venues as extra prizes for the community. 8 ) Access to a second exclusive subscriber miniature -depends on the cost of the second mini.
Granted I am aware of GWs support of long term projects as well as ongoing quality control (chuckle) of existing digital products. So if I will stay subscribed is... to be seen. Anyone remember the 'Space Marine Army Builder' they released?

I considered it for a while. But their zero-tolerance politic for fanmade products made me hate them enough to not support their channel.
RIP kitten. You will be missed.
