Feedback needed for Dark Eldar dice

I already have my PT mold done so...

I say 22mm, marble purple, DE symbol [that we approve] on the "6" side.

I'd be ordering some 24 dice... assuming they come in the 12 dice box.

Dice for me, first of all. because I collect them and because I can show them off, I mean use them in more other games

I would go pain tokens, as with dice I already have my set and specific set up (yes... I am alittle supersitious with my dice... but arent we all )

Not sure if that would be useful (as graphic "1" on die) but I did that some time ago...

I'd rather have black (possibly gem) dice with white pips and the dark eldar rune on the 6. Classic and classy.

I would much rather have dice as the pain tokens you can make yourself without much difficulty.

Really like Sky Serpent's idea: dark, classy and simple =]

Also, I have plans for Pain Tokens, and in true Dark Eldar style its an idea I've 'borrowed' from another Commorraghian...

Also You can colour white numbers with wash. Cool.

One thing - I would use rune for 1 rather than 6. Single shape may be confusing non-DE players. If we would try to use it 6 times, then it would look pretty bad (like 6 dots, whatever).



Left will look like 1, right will look like 6 dots on 12mm die (GW/Chessex size).

Just technical advice how it should be done "right".

Agreed. And IMHO the design should be on the 6. 6 stands for WIN and in chase of moral-checks it stands for "run back home"

Custom DE dice would be amazing, you can certanly count me in for buying some (lots) if i like the design.

My other reason for black dice is everyone can use them, they go with any army and colour scheme. If they were purple I wouldn't touch them, if they were green.... and so on. I think black works best in my view.

The post is for grey knights, if I remember right he also did necron and craftworld eldar tokens.

I would definitely be in for DE dice, I could keep them in my custom webway portals (a spherical marble tin i picked up from a local stationery shop) I'd probably go for 30-40, since I'm planning a unit of bloodbrides that comes with hideous numbers of attacks on the charge) and on that basis I'd prefer the 16mm, but I'll go with the flow.

Anyone up for getting this going?

Sorry bout that. I was planning to handle this but then RL struck. Now that I'm back I am am ready to run this again.

Any takers on getting custom dice?

We need to decide on a symbol, color, shape (rounded or square) and size (16mm is what comes in a 36 count cube, 36mm is what comes in a 12 count cube).

After a few suggestions I will start a new thread with poll to get an accurate tally.

Once we have those I can go to the dice makers and get a cost per. Prices are generally based on how many are ordered, IE the more ordered the cheaper they are per.

I'm still saying 16mm like the GW ones, rounded, black with white pips and the DE symbol shown earlier in the thread as the 6.

Simple, classy, very Dark Eldar and goes with everyones army. I'd be up for about 60.

I did a custom set of dice for my emperors childen CSM.... a few learnings from that...

1. replace the 1 on the dice, not 6. I replaced the 6 on my dice with the EC logo (6 is the number of slaanesh as well!) but it confused the heck out of opponents as the 1 is the most typical face replaced
2. Get 3-4 colours - this allows you to roll speacial weapons, mixed saves etc quickly
3. the matching 'random direction dice' may not be able to be made in the same style as the rest due to needing a specific type of dice to etch all 6 sides

Really, I've mostly ever seen the 6 side replace. The only time Ive seen the 1 is on GW dice and the one time my club's order was messed up. And if your like me and explain to you opponents before the game that if you have a symbol its on the 6 then they cant get confused( this doesnt mean have a mix of both and try to cheat)

I believe the plan was to stick to one color and just normal d6s to save on cost
