| I say Scab Red but it is actually Burnt Cadmium by Vallejo - Scab Red is the closest to it.

What route would you go for? I'm thinking of adding Vermin Brown and then white to the mix...

| What other colors are you using with Scab Red? It would make a difference, though it sounds like you are shying away from the Reddish/Orange route(thankfully). I would probably add Vermin Brown and increasing amounts of bleached bone to avoid a pinkish tone. Though I must admit, I've never painted a predominately red model outside of a Khador army for a friend.(I used Scorched Brown/Blood Red as a base) | |

| I think in this particular case You COULD go with mixing it with Tentacle Pink... | |

| I am very fond of addig pale yellows to highlight a lot of my colors.
What comes to mind is Vallejo Desert sand. Its a very soft yellow, almost like butter.
I might try that first, if not then add blazing orange and then the Desert sand.

| Pretty slow reply, but if you are still looking for an answer, i used blood red, then dwarf flesh to highlight scab red on my sisters. (Canoness is the best example in the distractions forum) | |

| I'd use mechrite red (that is, of course, if you want it to look red). | |

| heres how i do it: base : scorched brown/ dark flesh (1:1 mix) wash: ogryn flesh/ badab black (1:1 mix) layer: scab red / base (2:1 mix) highlight: scab red / vomit brown /base (1:2:1 mix) edge: vomit brown/ scab red (2:1 mix) gives you something like this as a result | |

| Burnt cadmium red is the paint i probably use most EVER! depending on where your going with it really depends on what you want to highlight it with. most of the time i mix blood red with it in increasing amounts until it pure blood red for the final highlight. i like to use VMC Vermillion too (just ran out of it though)
