1000 pts Beginning a Kabal Empty
PostSubject: 1000 pts Beginning a Kabal   1000 pts Beginning a Kabal I_icon_minitimeFri Feb 17 2012, 08:47

Hey All!

First post to the forum!

Im planning on starting a new Dark Eldar army off of the profits i make from selling my IG to buddies of mine.

Im banking on doing the army from 2 battleforces and around 2-3 blisters, so here is the list ive come up with after a little thought:

HQ
3 Haemonculi w/Liquifiers 180

Troops

9 Wyches w/ Hekatrix (w/ Agonizer), Shardnet and Impaler 130
Transport: Raider w/ Dark Lance, Flickerfield 70

9 Wyches w/ Hekatrix (w/ Agonizer), Shardnet and Impaler 130
Transport: Raider w/ Dark Lance, Flickerfield 70

20 Kabalite Warriors w/ 2 Dark Lances, Sybarite, Blaster 255

Fast Attack

6 Reaver Jetbikes w/ 2 Heat Lances 156

Total Points: 996

Thoughts and suggestions welcome!

Id say that looks like a fairly standardized list based on what I've seen and read so far on this forum. The only thing I'd change personally is the Shardnets + Impalers on the Wyches to Razorflails or Hydra Gauntlets but that's personal preference because I like uber killy Wyches rather than tar-pitting the hell out of enemy troops.

Also with the Reavers it might be worth trying them with blasters rather than heat lances purely due to the threat range available on the blaster. 9" Deadly range for a Heat Lance against vehicles whereas Blaster is all good from 0" - 18" but again this comes down to personal preference and how you want the Reavers to work.

Another thought might be to separate the warrior squad into 2x 10 man sqauds to allow more flexibility when holding objectives etc, plus by dropping the dark lances in the squads for splinter cannons they gain more mobility and more shooting attacks and still have a tank killer option with the blasters. However this is of course at the cost of 50% of your Dark Lances.

Thats my thoughts anyways, take'm or leave'em but hopefully it's some food for thought Smile

Thanks for the reply dude.

Yea, now that i realize it it would probably be a good idea to make the best use out of the pain tokens by taking Hydra gauntlets for alot of S4 attacks on the charge.

I was tempted to try the Heat lance due to the deadliness of melta vs AV14, but the blaster would be better all around. Ill give it a shot before i finish building the Reavers (when i get them!)

Yea, im still not too sure about how i want to run my warriors. I was thinkin of having the warriors set with the Haemonculus as a good midfield/objective holder/fire support for my Wyches, but you did peg the lack of objective taking capability. I will give that a try before i completely build my force

Definitely food for thought

Warriors are really only good as -mobile- Darklight carriers; in lieu of above unit 2 smaller Raider-mounted squads with blasters would serve you better. At this stage you'd probably be better off dropping them altogether for two or three Ravagers, though.
