WOW, what a great look on the battle damage. The base work also looks good.

These are AWESOME. I really like the battle damage, and the paint on the Wyches is truly first-rate. I'm predicting a winner here

Yeah, we're definitely looking at the winner here. Amazing work! I love the green scaled texture on wych armor, and the raider looks like it has been in the thick of a thousand battles.

Jaw-droppingly good S'jet. The weathering on the Raider is perhaps the best I have seen (I will be begging you for a full-blown tutorial on it), but your Wyches are equally beautifully done.

I was pretty worried early on that the infantry and vehicles wouldn't tie together enough, due to me wanting the tyranid trophies (to be added, i ran out of time!) to stand out on the raider hulls. I nearly scrapped the whole scheme.... glad i didn't =)

The weathering is actually not difficult. Humbrol maskol was applied with some blister sponge between the weathering colour (scorched brown for me) and the colour you want the vehicle. Once you have painted the primary colours, you remove the maskol by either rubbing your finger along the surface which will remove the smaller parts, or using a pair of tweezers.

Something to consider is whether or not the weathering colour contrasts nicely with your primary colour. It doesnt always have to be silver metal or black, it can be whatever colour you want really. The other thing, i havent tried this without an airbrush. I doubt one is 100% neccessary, but it makes it alot easier.
I'll do a step by step when i do my next vehicle =)

Congratulations - a really outsanding painting done here!

The painting on the Raider is Amazing, but what caught my eye most of all was the armour on the gunner.
