right so after some research and some late night reading of the 'dex Wink i've come up with another list that i'd like to have critiqued.

this list will be facing predominantly MEQ armies, and maybe a tau army every now and then. the points limit is 2000

HQ - Archon w/ phantasm grenade launcher, combat drugs, huskblade, shadowfield, soul trap

- Haemonculus w/ liquifier gun

- Haemonculus w/ liquifier gun

Elites - 9x incubi w/ raider (dark lance)

Troops - 5x Wracks w/ liquifier gun, raider (dark lance, flickerfield)

- 5x Wracks w/ liquifier gun, raider (dark lance, flickerfield)

- 10x wyches w/ shardnet + impaler, hekatrix w/ agoniser, raider (dark lance)

- 10x wyches w/ shardnet + impaler, hekatrix w/ agoniser, raider (dark lance)

Fast Attack - 6x Reavers w/ 2x heat lances

- 5x Scourges w/ 2x haywire blaster

Heavy Support - Ravager x3 dark lances

- Ravager x3 dark lances

- Ravager x3 dark lances

total 1855

so the plan is the wyches storm ahead and tie up dangerous stuff. ravagers obviously try to decimate armour. scourges try and stunlock stuff i can't get to. the reavers act as a general nuisance. the two haemies go with the wracks and follow the wyches (at first i wanted to have them sitting on obj's but i'm not sure this is the way to go??) and the archon travels with the incubi and takes on IC's/MC's.

the two problems i face are 1. the wracks, with my extra points, is it worth upping thier numbers from 5 (+ haemie) to 7 - 9? or would kabalite warriors better suit the role of camping in the raider and short range firefighting? i assume 2 liquifier guns are good? and i was thinking about the hexrifle, but it seems a bit... well.. meh.

And finally 2. because i face MEQ/tau battle suit armies i have a lot of shooting whether its kabalites or wracks, but nothing really negates armour (cracking open 2+ terms, sang guard and battlesuits) so is it worth changing a 3x Dark lance ravager for a 3x disintegrator cannon setup? 9 str 5 shots, 3's to hit and 3's to wound (two for fire warriors) or should i leave the ravager for anti tank?

You could do with some 5 warrior blaster squads in venoms.

I'd give the Archon an agoniser to deal with high toughness models the synergy works well with the incubi.

cut back on the number of incubi. 9 is way too many. your tear right through the squad they assault and be stuck out in the open to get shot to death. the trick is too kill enough to win the combat but to get stuck in until the oppts turn and wipe them out then so you can advance on your next tern. you should not run more that 5 incubi ever.

@ Farmer - i guess it couldn't hurt, plus i have 10 kabalite warriors lying about, so if i can find 4 blasters it might help out

@ Baron Tordeck - i sort of see where you are coming from, the unit of 5 i fielded pretty much smashed the squad i sent them after. i guess i could do a squad of 5 and a squad of 4 with the archon to stop them going too far.

what's the verdict on the Wracks? will they serve me well, or could i do with kabalite warrior squads in thier place? i've heard good things about the liquifier gun, but i just need some expert advice on the matter. my friend (space wolf player) says to drop them in favour of the kab warriors, but i don't know whether he is saying that so he doesn't have to deal with 2 liquifier guns per squad or because he actually feels the warriors are better.

i do feel there is a lack of AI in this list, but i could be very wrong, being a newb to DE and all! Embarassed

yes two units is better idea, cuz then you can smash more things.

wracks are a tough as nails(well at least as far a DE go) objective grabber and holder that I would not drop.
