| So wait, frying a infantry and frying a tank isn't dual role? /sarcasm
Dual role is defined as the entire squad. So a Warrior squad with a Blaster is kinda defines as such because the Rifles can take on infantry, the Blaster a tank. Problem? How likely are we to do a good amount of damage to either target? Not likely.

| I personally don't put blasters on trueborn, to me its alot of points for short range(albeit potent) anti-tank that will probably get shot to pieces the 2nd turn. I know its a good unit for taking out termies and nobz and such, but I just always go with volume of shots for TB. NOT saying its a bad strategy(like giving a hekatrix a pwr wpn) but I just don't do it myself.

| It's one of the DE's more potent AT options... Think of it less as a mobile infantry anti-tank unit, and more of a mini ravager that can survive blowing the hell up... Blasterborn combined with a venom make one of the only dual role units that works well, especially when you can shoot both a tank and infantry in the same turn. | |

| Ruke-
I get that, I do, I just don't use it myself, I look @ blasterborn the same way I look at Razorwings; they're awesome units that I never have on my lists. I would NEVER criticize someone for using them though; don't doubt their badassness one bit.

| blasterborn are very effective, BUT they are short range (which I feel is extremely detrimental to the survivability of the unit). I put 2 lances in the unit to allow them to be effective at range, I go from having 9 36" lance shots to have 15. If the enemy wants to close I can still move the venom 6" and get 3 blaster shots or if the enemy hovers at the sweet spot 13-18" it's 5 lance shots. The downside to this unit is the cost, in a venom spam list most units weigh in around 125 ish points, moving that total up over 200 is a bit of a pinch. My defense to this theory is that @ 2k points, what else am I going to do with my points? | |

| I really only play 1500, 1750, 1850 pts - but that's an obscene amount of points for such a fragile unit that doesnt include a HQ... Incubi and Grots are the only units I would take that cost that much for a single unit, unless they were riding with a HQ... | |

| fair 'nough, the bottom line is really, and this goes for everyone, does it work for me? At this point it is working for me, when it stops working I promise I'll adjust | |
