1000pt list 1st DE game

my first game today with my new Dark Eldar playing 1000pt game against my buddy.
probably be facing his space wolves
Not an optimum list by any stretch of the imagination as i'm just playing what iv'e got, mainly to get a handle of the feel of the army and the new rules i now have to learn.

1000pt
Archon (huskblade, shadowfiels, combat drugs, soul trap, PGLauncher)
Incubi x4 (klaviex , onslaught)
Venom (+splintercannon)

10 Kabalite warriors (blaster, splinter cannon, sybarite w/ Agoniser)
Raider (flickerfield)

10 wyches (2xhydra gauntlets, haywire grenades, Hekatrix w / Agoniser)
Rainder (flickerfield)

6 reaver jetbikes (2xblasters, 2 x caltrops, arena champ w/ Agomiser)


not alot and not the ideal choice.
I have no ravagers yet (picking one up next week) so my at is very limited though with his Wolves he doesnt take much AT so i'm hoping the wyches haywires or the Blasters on the bikes can take care of it.

Planning to hit one side of his flank and roll him up but i'll have to see how the setup goes.

Why oh why do people take agonisers on sybarites. Kabalites will die in close combat! Agonisers on sybarites are the biggest waste of points ever. Oh, and get rid of the agoniser on the bikes as well, they die even faster than Kabalites. This is one of the biggest rookie mistakes I see around here, don't let it happen to you. These units shoot and don't do anything else, don't try to make them!

I never seem to get on with small armies of elite troops. If I were your opponent I'd aim to target the raiders, leaving the mainstay of your force to footslog the battlefield. That leaves your Archon and reavers to drive about, which aren't that much of a threat without support.

In 1k points, I'd run at least 1 Haemonculus with the wyches as instant pain token for the unit at only 50pts.

Split the reavers into 2 units of 3 with caltrops, giving you more 24" turbo boosting D6 drops.

well played 2 games won 1 lost 1 but a really good learning curve.
as i said the army composition was more about what i have rather than what works.

big learning point (as was stated) got to lose the sybarite and agoniser. taking power weapons on sargents is a hold over from my IG days.
also lose the arena champ and agoniser on the Reavers, also split them into 2 group.

all good points, and I would suggest picking up a homun... give him a liquifier too... losing two sergeants, and agonizers should free up enough points for that...

had to cut my answer short but i was going to add i need to put in a flesh sculptor , 1st game i rolled 6 for my combat drugs and the pain token really made me see how resilient the FNP makes them

not a bad list (for one without ravagers) but I concur with everyones ideas. I will ask how did the huskblade/soultrap work with incubi? Ive always thought that combo would be more suited to be with wyches than incubi, as Incubi should be tearing through rank and file troops, not elites, where you seem to find most of your ICs. Elite status normally means either more power weapons, or more invuls. If I run an Archon w/ Incubi, I find that the agoniser is cheaper and more effecient.
