| Hey guys! Sorry if this is in the wrong place first of all! I started dark eldar a while ago and I hate to admit that I ended up selling them. The reason for that was becUse I think that I just brought what looked good to me at the time And didnt consider the synergy of the army I had brought and ended up doing very badly I really wanted a versatile shooting army and dark eldar fits the slot perfectly! But I was hoping for a little guidance on making a 1,500 pt army. Like I said I'm mainly after a shooty army, so I assume that's mainly kabalite based? But I love the arcane weaponry so a couple of haemonculis wouldn't go unwavered Any help or input will be greatly appreciated! Thanks for any help! | |

| I'm a newbie too, so can't really give definitive advice, but there is a separate section for army lists, so maybe you'd be advised to look there - someone may already have posted the kind of list that you're after. | |

| Start with a Codex, and give that a thorough reading. If you want a shooty army, yes, you are going to be using mainly Kabalites. However, you can also use Haemonculi and Wracks with Hexrifles. | |

| If you get a Codex and a Battleforce you have the backbone for your army. From this I would expand to include Ravagers, more Kablites, or any model that you just think looks awesome. That's how I started my army. 'Wow, look at the scourges!' Do not overestimate the powe of Kabalites, however, as they are a support unit. Oh, and welcome to the Dark City, we are glad to have you here. | |

Any help or input will be greatly appreciated! Thanks for any help! At the core, with these thoughts, I would say; Buy a codex. Build an army list. Ask for opinions thereof. Move forward with model purchasing at that stage. If you really want to at least get some figures and dig into them, I'll Nth the Battleforce suggestions - it's a good deal, and a very nice core of pieces that gives you a lot of things to work with that are all viable at some level. That, and if you don't want to field a particular set of models in it, you'll have some sweet conversion options, as our model range lends itself to that quite nicely. Getting to play a few small games with the figures should also give you a chance to learn some of the things you do or don't like about the codex. | |
