| I've always preferred plastic to metal (and more recently Finecast, not that I've tried it). It's a shame that so much of our army is Finecast (well, the elite choices anyway), but I plan to convert as much as I can out of plastic. With that in mind, here's the start: my first three Wracks. The models are based on Empire Flagellants. The heads are trimmed down helmets from the old 3rd edition Dark Eldar. The bits on the back are taken from Wood Elf Dryads. There's still a bit to do on these, not least filling some gaps with putty, but you get the basic idea. Any comments welcome, since I plan to make some more of these. I'd also like to know whether people think the same strategy would work for haemonculi or whether I'd need to make them stand out more. Edit just ot say it looks like I worked out how to do the clickable thumbnails - so click for a larger picture if you like (which will take you to my Photobucket album). Sorry they're a bit blurry; the last is probably the best (showing all three too). | |

| Nice, I've been considering plastic Wracks for some time, and since I have very poor sculpting skills wanted to focus on simple kitbashing. I like the use of the Dryad bits, and Flagellants definitely require the least work of any leg options.
Not too sure about the heads, though - the faceless masks are one of my favorite aspects of the Wracks. Reaver "bubble heads" work very well for that, espeically since you can create eyeholes and slits with just a drill and knife, no sculpting needed.

| Thanks, though I quite like these heads (save for worrying about the 'flat top' bit where I've trimmed it down) and I have plenty of the old helmets lying around too.
One thing I am unsure about is the weaponry. Most of the flagellant weapons are of the mace/club variety, which doesn't really suit poisoned weaponry. I'd been thinking of using some knives from zombies/skaven, but the hands on those are too large for the flagellants. (I'd prefer to swap the whole arm or at least hand to get a better contact area - obviously it's possible to simply stick a blade on but it may need pinning for strength.)

| How about the blades from Wyches? You get naked, right sided hands from the venom's crew and you could cut down the left hands from the armored, left sided arms and glue them on the left sided arms of the flagellants. At least that what I did, 2 weeks ago on mine. Sorry for the bad lighting, I don't get much natural light in my room and my lamp isn't doing it's duty. Part's are from the Talos kit, venom-crew arms, various bald heads of dark eldar, a unit of flagellants and some greenstuff. | |

Yeah, afraid I can't really make out too much from those silhouettes, but I like what I do see. Do you happen to have some better pictures of them anywhere?

| Ah yeah, those are better, thanks. Very nice job you've done of them too.
Are the robotic talon pieces (that look something like a cross between a techmarine and a hormagaunt) from the Talos kit? I have one of those sitting next to me, but haven't even opened it yet (I figure I'd best assemble the talos first, before I start using bits that may not actually be spare). Looks like I'd better get on to that and some wyches.

| Yes they are, here take a look at the sprue, they are on the upper right. They are used for the small devices the Talos has to "prepare" his victims. I build a Chronos out of the kit and didn't had much use for them. | |

| Very cool parts those are. Maybe I need to buy another Talos! But I think I need to assemble the one I have, before making my Grots... | |
