| I might be asking a really silly question here but a Flyer can Zoom 36" in the movement phase and then Flat Out 36" in the shooting phase, right? | |

| That's what I love about the new rulebook, there's so many new things in there that are staring me in the face that I haven't quite picked up on yet. | |

| Yes exactly. One I'd not picked up before until I saw it mentioned elsewhere was the fact that Jump Infantry can only use their jump packs once per turn, either movement or assault. Meaning they get the 12" move or their fancy Hammer of Wrath and the rerolling charge range. | |

| hmm...voidravens voidmine is going to be used more often i believe. Come in, drop the bomb and zoom out before the enemy has a chance to hit. this also means that GK will be able to drop in the troops in termi armor where they like along the path, and then zoom the stormraven out of the field to rediploy and start hitting things. Ah well.. on the jump infantry thing: that means we have a slight better chance of surviving blood angels and ravenguard i believe | |

| Pretty sure GKs can't do that, as you can't disembark from a flyer unless it moves at hover mode (unless you're Necrons. They cheat), and moving at hover mode makes the flyer count as a fast skimmer. | |

| they can do that, for stormraven says it can drop any unite along its path if it can teleport. What do GK have? Termi armor. What does that do? Mmm...teleport? Yep | |

| Hi guys,
I am new to the forums and have edn. 6 but have yet to play a game. Given the new distinction between flyers and skimmers I have looked at the GW FAQ but it does not identify which of our vehicles class as flyers or skimmers.
Can anyone advise me what is a flyer and skimmer.
I'm guessing that a RWJF is a flyer and a reaver a skimmer but I am stuck with venoms, ravagers and raiders.
Sorry if my question seems a little basic but I have also only been a DE player for 4 months after years playing Chaos (with no skimmers/flyers at all!).
Thanks | |

| In our codex only units, that have the supersonic rule are flyers. (Razorwing and Voidraven). Venoms, Raiders and Ravagers are fast skimmers and Reavers are neither, but Eldar Jetbikes.

| There is a reference chart on pages 410-413 that lists every vehicle's type and number of hit points.
And yes, that 72" total move means that your Void Raven can zoom in and drop its bomb in the movement phase, then Flat out back into Ongoing Reserve in the shooting phase.
Unless your opponent has guns with Interceptor, you can set up a bombing run without leaving your Void Raven vulnerable, and then bring it on the following turn in position to start using its long-range weaponry.

| The rules for bombs state you can't flat our aftr dropping one. You could still fly off the board and drop the bomb over a unit you pass, since the bomb is dropped during movement. | |

| You also can't fly off the board the turn you arrive from reserve.
Would you get cover saves from a bomb or not?

I think you got it wrong there. On page 81 of the new rule book, it says - Quote :
- Zoom and Flat Out
A zooming flyer that goes flat out must move forwards in a straight line between 12" to 24" So we can only flat out 24" max. Am I right about this?

So we can only flat out 24" max. Am I right about this? Supersonic I believe is the answer here - the other half has the Rulebook upstairs - but yes, check Supersonic in the universal special rules.

| since the minimu board is 48" you cant go off board. IF(!!!) you go on a corner path, than you either cant shoot at anything or are just wasting the crafts potential to do damage with low chance of failurel Your call Sky @tons: flyers must move a minimum of 18" - as i've read @beans: nice song @King check flyers rule in RB | |

y-outube.com/watch?v=1aS3UQZw-gI I thought you were gonna send me to a virtual insanity! That would have been more for Tau or Necron. Ok so with supersonic we can flat out 36" which over rides the rule book? And do you guys know if the other flyers from the other armies are also supersonic or not?

| The necron ones have it, the ork ones, too, and the Stormtalon Gunship is also supersonic. The Valkyrie, Vendetta and Stormraven aren't, afaik.
Does anyone still feel special?

| so now we arent the fastest army, are more expensive than ig and have cra..i mean worse saves. The only bonus we have compared to them are ws, i, and splinter. Ws, not so worth it, for if your warriors get charged, they are toast. I? Same as before, we only hit first...then what? Splinter. Now THAT is worth something. But for almost double pts... back on topic: we should get a FAQ entry to increase our movement speed, otherwise, we are overpriced IG with more voulnerable transports. Why do other flyers get super sonic, that should be our speciality | |

| Oh, and BTW our flyers lost aerial assault, so they work like every other supersonic flyer. | |

| I think it was pretty bad form of GW to not give our flyers vector dancer. That would have been sweet.
