In light of 6th edition's rules changes, I thought I would take an opportunity to fiddle around with shooting capabilities. This is a 1000 point list with some emphasis on different shooting weapons, both in an attempt at an active list and an attempt to get a better understanding of the mechanics of more of the different guns.

Archon + Blaster 75
4 Trueborn + 4 Blaster 108
Venom + SC + NS 75
5 Kabalite Warrios + blaster 60
Venom + SC + NS 75
5 Kabalite Warrios + blaster 60
Venom + SC + NS 75
Ravager + FF 115
Ravager + FF 115
10 Trueborn + 10 Shardcarbines 170
Raider + Dissy + NS + FF 80

Total: 1008 pts

Victory through overwhelming firepower is the name of the game. 18 DL weapons, 6 venom cannons (36 shots), 10 shardcarbines and a Disintegrator Cannon to knock down a termie or two (if i'm lucky) from afar. Concentrated firepower can knock out any major threat from 36", and then move in for the kill at 18". Two venoms w/ troop choices can zoom off last minute to grab objectives, while the archon, shardcarbine boat and ravagers keep the ball rolling. Even termies have to fall from enough AP2 and a shower of poison.

Your list looks good, but there are two things I would suggest you consider:

1) instead of a naked Archon, I might suggest a Haemie with a Hexrifle. You won't miss that one Blaster and will still get a good shooting ability, and it will also save you 10 pts and get you under 1,000.

2) with the new cover saves for vehicles, swap the FF's on your Raider for Splinter Racks to take better advantage of the volume of fire you have on board.

1) done!
2) Splinter racks don't work for shardcarbines for some sad silly reason. DE Codex says splinter rifles and splinter pistols.

You know, all this time and I never noticed that Embarassed I just saw "splinter" and I guess assumed the rest. I never actually used it with Trueborn though, as mine have always been in a Venom, but have been considering using gunboat Raiders more in 6th. Glad you pointed that out, thanks.
