Here is the first go at producing an army list. I have a large enough body of troops I feel reasonably comfortable and enough points for a ridiculously pimped archon and some cool models. I'ts supposed to represent the combined forces of a wealthy young archon with a rep for slumming and his succubus mistress and her arena mates.

HQ

archon:huskblade, soultrap, combat drugs, shadow field 145
succubus:haywire grenades, agonizer 90

Elites

9 blood brides: syren,agonizer,3x shardnets, haywire grenades, raider w flicker fields and night shields 275
(archon rides with BB)

5 incubi: klaivex, bloodstone, riding in venom 195

Troops

9 wytches: hekatrix, agonizer, haywire grenades, raider 200
(succubus rides with)

10 wytches: hekatrix, agonizer, haywire grenades, raider 210

10 warriors: blaster, splinter cannon, raider w. flicker fields 175

10 warriors: blaster, splinter cannon, raider w. flicker fields 175

Fast Attack

5 scourges 2x haywire blasters 150

5 scourges 2x haywire blasters 150

Heavy Support

Ravager 3x DL flicker fields, night shields 125

All said and done 1995. It may not be super competitive but I'm glad I got the incubi, and those new scourges in there. The beaty lord is what i wanted from picking up the codex and the succubus is a buff that feels right compared to a coven type hq. Any comments are welcome (excluding this army sucks and you are a bonehead Smile )

Nice fluffy reason for HQ's archon is solid not sold on the succubus (and if you chose to drop her the syren in the bloodbride squad makes a suitable replacement fluff wise.

Elites

This set up suits an archon with a clonefield well saying that should work fine

5 incubi: klaivex, bloodstone, riding in venom 195
Klaivex and upgrades are expensive YMMV the venom needs a second splintercannon

I've said this many times and the Baron always disagrees but I think you can get away with less wyches in a squad

the min/maxer in me tells me you should drop 5 warriors and a splintercannon from each squad (which combined with other suggestions will buy you another warrior squad in a raider.

It's not a bad list at all, yeah it's not super tweaked but it'll look good on the table and will be fun for you to play.

Thank you for the reply. There are some insights you have made and some oversights that I made that may allow for some tweaking. I like the feel of the army and don't want to radically switch up the composition but I'm not advverse to trimming some fat and improving efficiency.

HQ/ Elites: I feel like I've let the incubi down. They are a strong, compact unit but their lack of access to offensive grenades will limit their applications. Moving the beastly archon to support them would allow me to drop an incubi but his kill power wouldn't really be as critical as a minor contributor with a PGL. I think it might be dangerous to have "too killy" a character with them. I'd be all over something like the duke if he had a PGL rather than a blast pistol. Sadly my succubus can't grab a PGL so i'd have to run a weaker archon to give them the support they should receive. Shuffling the HQs a buling an "archon light" to support the incubi while the heavy remains with a blood bride body guard may be the way to go.

Troops:I'd be ok with dropping the wytch and warrior squads to 8's. There is a slight point saving across the four units with the loss of bodies and splinter cannons. I could probably bring that additional raider into the mix without paring down anything outside of my troop selection but I'd have to go hunting across the army as a whole to drum up some bodies. I'm cool with losing two, possibly three bodies per squad to grab another unit but reducing to 5 warriors makes me uncomfortable.

Scourges: Good to hear, that's 45 points (including the last 5 to 2000) that don't have to be begged, borrowed, or stolen from somewhere else. I think I am liking these two units even more Smile .

This was about as concrete as one of my kabal/cult background threads. If you read through these random musings and think I'm moving down the right track or should do something else please share your input.
