| I've been thinking, I don't think I'll join. Reason is that I am here for looking at / showing mini's / sharing stories and hopefully, one day, start a string of battle reports to depict a campaign and further politics perhaps.
If behind the scene of this site, a mechanism was to be found for wheeling and dealing like for instance the game 'Diplomacy', I guess that would be more for me.
Also, some kind of starmap and a method for putting batreps into one big narrative would be great too (as I participated in 2002-2003 in the Eye of Terror campaign and we built a special ops brigade by streamlining all kinds of arrivals into one bigger unit plus stories).
But here? With all due respect, there is quite some unwanted roleplaying in my daily functioning, and I tend to look for escape in fantasy worlds more than is good for me already, so I don't think it would be a good idea for me to join here...
I am sorry - have fun! | |

| Sorry Noctus, I'm not trying to be insulting, I just invited people who seem to have enough time for a bit faster paced RP. With as long as posts are between "Lost Carol" I don't think you do, and the bit of time you do have, I'm sure you spend working on your RP?
Also, don't take it as this is meant to usurp your RP at all, as it's not, I am completely interested in your RP still, and have every intention on continuing on with it, as it becomes available.

| As is, apparently, usual for me, once I got to working on the idea...I had more than one. Two potential kids for consideration, I like both and have proven easily swayed by the appeals of the players and GM as to which they prefer, if any. First up, a young tubeborn knife fighter with a rough edge and a solid knowledge of living on the streets and fending for himself. - Vash, The Steel Rat:
Name: Goes by the name ‘Vash’ also answers to ‘The Steel Rat’ Name appears to have been self-chosen, he claims no family name.
History: Vat #3728x, Batch# 8271-92a7, The Orphanage Processing Facility. Subject 2578-8271-92a7, was awarded to Sub-Pain Artisan Nock’felya of the Ganges Weapon Works. The payment of fifty healthy genestock tubeborn was owed for an expedience in obtaining a shipment of monofilament blades in due time for a needed raid favor that had been called due on one Kabal by a more powerful one. The profit margins had been good, and the promised payments for the supplies had been generous.
2578-8271-92a7 was put to work maintaining the crystal etherizers on Tower Nine, maintenance of the etherizers is vital for proper creation of splinter rounds, as otherwise they could crystalize unevenly and sporadically, ruining them as weapons grade profits and reducing them to, at best, shoddy shank baubles for the foolhardy. Monthly casualty rates were within acceptable parameters for the youths working the etherizers. No more than two deaths a day or fifteen deaths in a given eight day period.
In the second month of servitude records indicate Sub-Pain Artisan Nock’felya became ‘attached’ to 2578-8271-92a7. Daily service logs indicate regular torture visitations. Initially due to subject’s habits of making bladed weapons, further visitation reasons are not clearly documented.
A sobriquet was attained in the eleventh month of servitude. ‘The Steel Rat’. There is no indication of the matter of the sobriquet’s arrival, but workers within multiple work towers became aware of it. In an unrelated matter, monthly casualty rates exceeded acceptable parameters in the eleventh month of servitude.
In the twenty-third month of servitude a request was tendered to Sub-Pain Artisan Nock’felya requesting release from servitude – acceptable remunerations were discussed. Data of Nock’felya’s spending habits indicates that bribes of an acceptable nature to obtain release of a slave youth were delivered. 2578-8271-92a7 sobriquet ‘The Steel Rat’ transferred to Tower Six, maintenance of dark matter infusers. Monthly casualty rates in Tower Six fail to meet acceptable parameters.
In the thirty-ninth month of servitude, threatening letter received by newly promoted Pain Artisan Nock’felya. Indicated potential risks if certain past arrangements were not kept. No signee. In unrelated matter, subject 2578-8271-92a7 placed in solitary work confinement for three months in dark matter infuser lower levels.
In the forty-first month of servitude, Pain Artisan Nock’felya brutually assaulted in private chambers. Reported culprit is slave subject 2578-8271-92a7 who had hidden a stiletto blade inside his arm and allowed to heal over. Tore it free and attacked Pain Artisan Nock’felya, multiple serious injuries. Nock’felya recovering but appears to have lost some focus due to desire for vengeance. Subject 2578-8271-92a7’s current whereabouts unknown, presumed to be living on the streets of the city in some quarter.
Appearance: A wiry muscular young boy, with steely gray hair kept in a short buzz cut atop his head. His body is laced with multiple old scars, and his eyes bear a few noted scars from dark matter exposure as well. If the wounds pain him he does not say. He is generally a bit taciturn, but knows the streets of Commoragh well enough, and believes in strength in numbers enough to work with other street waifs, after all, if Nock’felya catches up to him again it is always useful to have a few bodies between him and the vengeful autocrat.
Quote: Measure twice, stab once, and be gone before any of your target’s friends show up.
Second, twin brother and sister, two for the price of one, and perhaps proof that being trueborn is not always a good thing. - Maa'rii and Glynn Rrynth'ill:
Name: Maa’rii and Glynn Rrynth’ill
History: My sister and I were born natural. Klimkqwist says that is important to our breeding, it makes us better than the other people. I suppose that means you. What’s that? You noticed our little gift? Yes, yes, it’s true, the Dark Muses gave us a wonderful gift, by making sure my sister and I would always be together. Our parents didn’t seem to think it was so good, from what I was told.
That’s why I’m glad we live with Klimkqwist now! Klimkqwist is so smart, and he teaches us all sorts of things. He saved us, you know, our parents wanted us to be disintegrated, but Klimqwist insisted we be given to him instead. It pleases me so much. He’s so very nice and understanding, and I’m sure he’ll take excellent care of you too. You’re a…oh, what is it now, a mon’keigh, am I right? My sister says you like to call yourselves ‘human’ but I’m sure that does-
What’s that? Oh, yes, of course my sister talks to me, she does it all the time. She’s a little shy though, so she doesn’t like to show off in front of other people much. Klimkqwist tells me my sister makes me special, and I suppose I make her special too. In any case, I mostly came down here to deliver this meal to you and see if you needed anything else while I was-
Oh? Escape? Why, yes, certainly, my sister was just telling me yesterday about how one could get someone out of this workshop and out near the docks, it would be the perfect escape for even an alien since there are so many aliens wandering out in the dock districts. I should know, Klimqwist trusts me to do so many errands and stuff for him, and even during my spare time I sometimes like to wander around the streets just to see the sights.
Dangerous? Oh, no, no, not at all, I find them quite fun. Maa’rii gets spooked a little, but I’m there to protect her, of course. Why, would you like to come with us on one of our walks? I can’t let you escape, but maybe if I let you out for a while, would you like that?
Oh…I’m sorry, I should have mentioned to you about the food, yes, I know the reaction is quite painful, but screaming about it won’t help anyone. You see, I should probably mention that I wasn’t totally upfront and honest with you up until this point. Master Klimkqwist is really trying to help me out, you see, I think it would be awfully nice to allow Maa’rii a bit more freedom, don’t you agree? But to do that I just have to get…smarter, about how bodies work. Now, if you will just hold still, I want to see if I’ve gotten any better at splitting a spinal column in half while maintaining structural integrity…
Appearance: Glynn is a charming young man with a winning smile, wide open and honest coral eyes, and an affable demeanor. However, there is clearly something ‘off’ about him, and it is the misshapen lump on his left side that transforms his walk into a stumbling shuffle and gives him an odd hunch. The lump, draped in the same brown robes that Glynn favors for himself, is quickly revealed to be a small, slightly misshapen, vestigial upper body, that of his conjoined twin sister, Maa’rii. Her flaxen blonde hair is always kept perfectly combed and neat by his dutiful attentions, her face is done up lightly in makeup, and he often speaks to her in order to puzzle out unusual problems. But her tiny arms are curled up like claws to her chest, and her eyes always remain beaded tightly shut, indeed, though the growth seems to breathe, there is no clear indication of life ever to be had from it except a tiny twitch or two.
The only sure way to annoy the normally charming Glynn, however, is to suggest that the growth is perhaps, anything less than fully alive and aware.
He is employed as an errand boy and curiosity/amusement in the workshop of Klimkqwist, a minor Haemonculous.
Quote: That sounds interesting, let me ask Maa’rii her opinion and I’ll get right back to you.

| Though I must say, they really are both fabulous, I think that "Vash" would probably be a better fit all around, though, I would love to see how you play out Glynn, as he's rather interesting. | |

| I'd go with Vash. Something about his name has a nice ring to it... I like his backstory, although I think it would be interesting to see what you do with the twins. | |

| Sounds like people like the Steel Rat - so he's the play for this one. Glynn needs to go talk to his sister about all the rude people who didn't vote for her anyway. | |

| It was really tough. I liked Glynn a lot, i just think that Vash will fit in to the story better. He may turn up at some point in the future though... | |

| How will we handle conversations between our characters, I assume we wont go back and forth taking turns to say things. | |

| When conversing is necessary, try to do it in chat and write it into your narrative, since most of us are in chat on a regular basis. If thats not possible for some reason, a series of PMs should work as well...

| Just to bring the usefulness of this up, there is a chat for RP's: http://thedarkcityforumrpg.chatango.com/
RP'ing ends up turning int madness in there usually, as you can probably see.

| Of course! Write it into your charcters story. It doesnt need to be word for word per se, as long as it works and both players know whats happening. You dont even have to rp it chat. Just a simple heres what my character is going to do/say hows yours respond? | |

| Ah, it happened again I meant: "Is there a better way to copy and paste from the chat if we use it, because otherwise I can only copypaste one line at a time. Maybe there is a log function? Though if there is I haven't found it." I have my first post up. Interesting start, Ruke! Let me know if I've got the style right | |

| When we reach the point of choosing our specialization are we limited to infantry options or can it include making a mistake and becoming a Grotesque or becoming a Razorwing Pilot? | |

| XD theres always a chance to become a grotesque, but at that point, you're not really in control of your character anymore... as for a razorwing pilot, if you can A. afford one or B. convince the kabal to buy you one and get you training, sure! | |
