| So, my fellow archons and succubi, I have a serious question. One of the members of the group I play with has started running a list he calls the blender. He's a craftworlder who runs this for 1,500 points. Eldrad Karandras X2 squads of 3 guardian jetbikes. X1 squad of guardians or avengers (lately guardians for a scatter laser) X1 full circus of harlequins, I think he's got 10 in there X3 squads of 3 war walkers. Everything's packing scatter lasers.
Eldrad and Karandras hang out with the harlequins, and he hides that mob behind the guardians. Which he claims them a 2+ cover while hiding behind the guardians or any other cover. They move up the field and demolish everything that they touch. The war walkers take the flyers and the vehicles. Given that our army is dependent on light vehicles, this is problematic as the walkers are going to eat three boats a turn.
Besides building a similarly ridiculous deathstar list, how would you suggest to counter this?

| First thought is to take out the war walkers first as the rest of his firepower is extremely limited. A few Dark Lances or Blasters should deal with them and then you just need to keep away from the Harliestar whilst picking off the rest of his army. Alternatively, take Eldrad, some harlequins and an Archon with a Shadowfield and play him at his own game! | |

| As I play harliestar as well, I can tell you the easiest way to beat him is to do this A: take out his supporting elements. if you kill the War Walkers early, he has to get you into combat to win. B: Go for flank shots on his unit. Sure, you gets a 2+ from the front, but if you make sure the harlies are the closest thing (and not shooting through cover) he only gets a 4+ re-rollable. Alot easier to go through.
Basically your job is to be fast and keep away. Shoot everything else in his army, and then slowly pick away a harlie or two before the end of the game, and you should hav no problem.

| As said, remove the walkers immediately.
Then outflank the "deathstar" for cover denial bonus and splinter them away from distance.
