| I've decided it's quite difficult to fit the Baron around a list involving Eldar Allies and an ADL so I've come up with a different approach. Although I'm still going to work towards something involving Eldar and/or the Baron, this list is closer to the models I own so I could reach this list and start play testing it sooner thus getting me used to the Reavers I'm on the brink of purchasing. All comments and analysis most welcome. Haemonculi - 50pts 3 Trueborn w/2xSC. Venom w/2xSC - 121pts 4 Wracks - 40pts 10 Warriors. Raider w/SR, NS, Disintegrator - 170pts 10 Warriors. Raider w/SR, NS, Disintegrator - 170pts 5 Warriors w/B. Venom w/2xSC, NS - 135pts 5 Warriors w/B. Venom w/2xSC, NS - 135pts 9 Reavers w/3xHL - 234pts Ravager w/NS, 3xDL - 115pts Ravager w/NS, 3xDL - 115pts Ravager w/NS, 3xDL - 115pts ADL w/QC - 100pts = 1,500pts exactly So for 1.5k we have 5 scoring units, 14 lances, 8 Splinter Cannons, 2 Dissies and a QC manned by the Heamon and Wracks. The Haemon will leave his pain token with the Reavers to increase their survivability whilst still gaining FNP when he joins the Wracks to man the QC. All but the Splinterborn have NS so the idea is to out range most enemies and take out their big threats to the fliers with lance weapons. What are people's thoughts? Are there any armies this may struggle particularly with? | |

| The only potential alteration I've come up with is swapping the 3 Trueborn with Cannons in the Venom for 3 Trueborn with 2DLs to sit in the ADL and snipe (saving 35pts) and two NS somewhere to get the 50pts to upgrade a Ravager into a Razorwing w/FF, SC and Dissies for some extra AI and Horde Control with all those missiles. Thoughts? | |

| Its pretty solid, maybe it might struggle against heavy mech lists or alpha striking AV. My ravagers have a horrible habit of doing absolutely nothing, too busy being a party yacht imo.
All they have to do is drop your ravagers and none of your other units have the duality with the exception of the Reavers to adapt to killing vehicles. Although with 36 range and 12 inch movement with nightshields and jink its harder to kill ravs than on paper suggests.
However if your reavers are on AV duty they will be up close and personal, and they will be a single threat since your army is about threat minimisation, NS and staying out of LOS, popping out to kill your targets with overwhelming fire. Your reavers might be faced with an entire armies shooting plus possible CC counter units. This might reduce their survivability somewhat. Blasters on the reavers might suit your style of play more, 18 inch range pop a vehicle move 2d6 in the assault phase out of LOS or range, to keep with your threat minimisation.
But thats nitpicking, 3 ravagers should be enough to scare the pants off most of mech lists, their plan will be simple kill the batman.....i mean the ravagers. Really comes down to how you play. Would love to see a batrep against heavy mech to see how you go.
You don't need the razorwing for more AI, you have a ton of it imo, depends on your meta also.

An interesting point. I hadn't really thought of this. I guess they are a suicide unit. I think I'd plan to send them down a flank so as to be out of range/LOS from some of the enemies return fire. Although with 3+ cover save and FNP they can draw quite a lot of fire. I'll look into the blasters idea. I agree with your thoughts on the Razorwing as well I think. I like the idea of all of my HS on the board from the offset. - Steffo wrote:

Hmmm. I guess it instantly becomes a high priority if the enemy has a flyer in their list. I've thought about deploying other vehicles in from so that they take the fire first if it's going to be a game it'll be useful in. Obviously it's all circumstantial. | |
