A sleeker, sexier The Dark City is coming...

That's right, the forum will soon be getting an update to it's look. It's something I've wanted to do since we started and you'll have seen the forum progress over the last year to what it is now. Lucky is back and after much bribery he is working on all sorts of updates. Every button, icon and image on the forum will be getting a new look.

The logo is getting bigger, more refined and badder.
The navbar is going to get all kinds of awesome.
There's also rumour of a background image....

We've set a preliminary date of 1st of October for the change so be sure to be here then.

To keep you going, and as a taste of what's to come, Lucky has designed a banner for you to use here or on other forums to promote the site.

What's the size of the banner in pixels (just handy to know for various forum rules)?

Amazing! So looking forward to the update.

The one in the OP of this thread is 640x120 so its on the bigger end. If he could scale that back to 500x100 it should be good for just about any site's rules.

And thus it was done. At time of writing all of the new images have gone up with a few small technical difficulties with the background image.

I think the forum will really move forward with this new look but most of all I need to say a MASSIVE thank you to Lucky for all his hard work and having to read my constant emails of how something could be tweaked.




What we need to know now is what do you think? If there's something we need to work on then please let us know and I'll force Lucky back into the lab, I mean, discuss some additions.
