Sadly, when they stupidly included that blanket statement that codex>rulebook they did not put a date stamp on it. It has given rise to an unbelievable number of ridiculous rules situations. | |

| I understand the intent. As new codex come out, they don't want to have to update the rulebook, but on the otherhand, not sure they thought about the flipside of what happens with a new rule book | |

The problem here is one of timing. Since our codex is pre-6th, anything in the rulebook that specifically overrides the rules in our codex have to take precedence. Take a Raider for example. You can not use a "codex" Raider, because it has no Hull points. So instead, you have to use the "rulebook" Raider, which has 3 Hull Points. In case of the Razorwing Jetfighter, you can no longer use it as a Fast Skimmer, as the rulebook states it's a Flyer now. The Haywire Blaster has been specified in the rulebook as a weapon with the Haywire rule. The Haywire rule has been redefined in the rulebook. So you'd have to use that rule, instead of our codex one. | |
