Okay Archon with incubi loadout having problems deciding

Loadout 1:

Venom Blade, Power Lance, Shadow Field, Combat Drugs, Phantasm Grenade Launcher

Loadout 2

Agonizer, Shadow Field, Combat Drugs, Phantasm Grenade Launcher

They both cost 145 pts.

Which is better in terms of killing in your opinion?

I'm building a take all comers list.

Depends on what they go up against. Vs Terminators #1 is better. Vs MEQ it depends on your drug roll and if you're charging. On the Charge #1 will be as good or better, without the charge #2 will be better. Vs Av4 T3/4 or less #1 will likely be better on the charge and, depending on drug rolls, just as good after. Vs Monsters it depends on their AV, Toughness, and your strength. If they have AV2 then again #1 is better, Vs AV3 #2 might be better. Vs Heroes with Invulneralbe saves who will likely last longer thent he charge turn it again depends on their Av. If it's a 2+ then #1 will be better, if it's a 3+ or less #2 might be better (it depends). And so on and so on.

Personally I like #1 better overall (though I prefer the Huskblade). You probably don't want to get bogged down in prolonged combat anyway so the lance will likely match the agonizer on the charge and the venom blade will handle things that the agonizer/power lance can't handle as well.

personaly i like the huskblade load out with VB, SF, CD, PGL, ST. great killing machine ap2 weapon to take care of the pesky av2 i keep comin up against. 2+ poison the grunts or lower av targets. this is a big point load out tho 175points, can still add in HG and Ghostplate if you want.

I would take your load out #1 over #2 i dont feel the agoniser bennefits the archon when you can take either the VB or HB or the power lance to get around 4+ to wound of the agonniser, like murkglow said you dont want to get bogged down in a combat, so the power lance wins out.

I vote for first. I take it he is going with Incubi.

That loadout is usefull in more situations and cost the same as agoniser.

Im going to mimic what Murkglow said but suggest the benefit of a soul trap with huskblade. This is a particularly good HQ hunter followed by a damn dangerous everything killer. A St 6 Archon that insta-kills everything is pretty nasty for everything aka thats 1 dead tactical squad each turn (especially if you stick him with wyches or Incubi). Following that a St 10 Archon that insta kills everything is the scariest thing in 40K. That result has allowed me to chomp through GK Paladins like butter, Tyranids like jelly and every special character under the sun. This is our deathstar unit- you just have to charge him up!

I think i might run the deathstar archon in 2000 points or more. I can squeeze him an 1850, but that does take out a unit of 5 warriors in a raider

personally I would go with loadout #2 for the simple fact is that he is the most well rounded one you have. He is good against everything, and the ability to ignore 3+ all the time (not just on the charge) is well worth the 20 pts. Top if off that your running him with Incubi (hence the PGL right???) and they have enough AP2 to bring down anything needing it short of TH/SS termies. I would suggest taking a Klavex though, as he then can accept challenges with those Termie wearing characters while the Archon has free reign on the squad.
