| Just got my first models (the warrior box) and was wondering what the most effective build for them straight from the box? Sybarite or no? Which heavy/special weapons? Thanks | |

| First of all, welcome to The Dark City.
With Warriors it completely depends on how you wish to use them. If you are tank hunting then Dark Light weaponry would be the best to go with. Personally I favour taking no Sybarite, one Blaster and a Splinter Cannon. This build has served me well.

| For a Raider gunboat (use splinter racks) maybe try 10 man squad with 1 splinter cannon. | |

| I take a sybarite for squads over 5 for the leadership. It's always a pleasant surprise when you land a precision shot with him as well. It really depends on squad size, and what you are doing with them. There are basically 3 standard options.
1. 5 man with blaster in a venom 2. 10 man with splintercannon in a raider with splinterracks (this is where i suggest the sybarite) 3. 10 man with Dark Lance behind an Aegis Line (sybarite needed here imo, since you are usually close to your board edge and could accidentally run off the board)

| Okay, so for raider squads I've got 10 warriors with one splinter cannon, and sybarite is a maybe. If I take one, power sword, or agoniser? Splinter or blast pistol? I would just like to clarify, I'm not asking because I want the most powerful DE list or anything. I just don't want to build a squad that doesn't turn out to be terrible, and also I'm handicapping myself a bit (sorta) by taking chaos allies, (I like the theme of DE and Night Lords spreading fear and pain on a planet) so I'm making up for it | |

| No equipment on the Sybarite, he's just there for leadership and nothing more (which is why he's an option not a must have, if you're not worried about LD then he's not necessary at all). Stuff like Power Weapons or an Agonizer would be a huge waste since you never want warriors in melee anyway and a blast pistol is far too short range. | |

| I always run a blob of 20 with 2 splainter cannons and duke sliscus behind an aegis line. I have taken to (of course) running eldrad with them too, as its too powerful not to. 48 splinter shots with rerolls from prescience (divination primaris power), wounding on a 3+, and misfortune forcing rerolls of successful saves (with eldrad you have a very good chance of rolling misfortune). I used this combo in a recent game, and it chewed through a full 10 man bike squad per turn. Its also way OP vs. MCs. At TDC we try to avoid double posts, please use the edit button in future. Thanks. - Mush | |

| Welcome to the community!
If youre just curious on how to actually assemble them, I would personally do 8 with splinter rifles and 2 others with special weapons. In the early stages of learning the game and especially in casual gameplay people arent going to freak out if your model has a splinter cannon and you just say its a blaster. As long as you can easily differentiate that special model from the others for wound allocation then theres no real problem.

| I agree with jb7090. I would build 8 with splinter rifles (one of which can be nominated as a Sybarite if needed), one with a blaster and one with either dark lance or splinter cannon. This will give you the most options in the future.
I have 3 boxes of warriors and I've built, 2 splinter cannons, 3 dark lances, 8 blasters (using a few conversions) and 17 with splinter rifles. From these models I can make:
2 x 10 warriors with Blaster and Splinter Cannon* 2 x 3 Trueborn with Blasters 1 x 3 Trueborn with 2 Dark Lances*
I can also make a single 20-man Warrior Squad with 2 heavy weapons and a blaster instead of the 2 10-man units.
*SC and DL can be swapped over between units

| 5 man w/ blaster in venom or raider is normally the best choice. But there are positives for a gunboat warriors. I suggestion would be to test out all types (even foot warriors) and see what you like best. | |

Forgot to say that I can also make 4 such units from my built models, although I'm one Venom short at the moment.

| I suggest magnetizing the arms for the special weapons guys. It will save you money in the long run. | |

| I'd sya there's 3 good builds you can make from a single box: 5 Warriors with a blaster (for riding in a Venom), 10 Warriors with blaster and splintercannon (for riding in a Raider, or for manning a defence line in which case the blaster is optional), or 10 Warriors with a lance, blaster optional (for manning a defence line. You'll probably shoot the Quadgun at vehicles so the lance add to that role. Blaster is optional since it has a fairly short range). | |
