| Well, getting back in to the hobby after more than 20 years and decided to go Dark Eldar. Finished my first set of Kabalites, a variation on the Poisoned Tongue scheme. Any and all feedback and advice welcome. | |

| Hey there, the link is asking for a password. Perhaps you need to set your flickr account to public? We'd love to see your work! Let me know if you need any help posting pics as this gave me a great deal of trouble the first hundred times that I tried. Cheers, ESE | |

| Well I think I've amended the settings to public now so it should be viewable. Always happy to take advice on posting photos, kind of lost me a little when I tried. | |

| Nice indeed! I am a sucker for DE in purple. I might advise that you highlight the blue hair a bit more to give it some separation from the purple. Keep up the great work! | |

| Appreciate the advice, it's been a long time since I've painted anything and I'm definitely rusty. | |

| Welcome back to the hobby! Hell, I'm 60 and had been away from 40K since 3rd ed (though I kept up in fantasy with 5 different armies. GW did NOTHING with Dark Eldar for about 15 years | |

| Nice work the whole scheme fits perfectly. Having a good set of complimenting colours on your palette is such an under-rated thing when it comes to painting model soldiers (at least in my wargaming circle :p ). So many models are ruined by awful colour schemes. | |

| Great job! I really like the colour scheme, and it's nicely executed. Personally, I would have kept the flesh a little lighter, and chosen a bright contrasting colour for the hair (eg. the luminous green on the 'Eavy Metal Poisoned Tongue models), but life would be boring if we all liked the same things. Do you have a plan for the bases? - McBegbie wrote:

I also use Flickr to host all of my photos (you can check them out via the link in my sig). To post a photo on the forum here: - Find the photo in your Photostream
- Click on the "Actions" button above the image, and then "View All Sizes"
- Choose the size you want. I always go for "Medium 640", as I don't want it too small, but the forum shrinks massive images anyway.
- Right-click on the image and choose "Copy Image Location"
- Paste that location between the [img][/img] brackets
And this is what you get: It looks to me like you've got the photography spot on - nice plain background, good focus and right exposure. Look forward to seeing more.

| I like the Wyches -probably because it's almost the same scheme I chose I find that after shading with washes all my models get very dark skin so I layer them with large areas of Rakarth Flesh - it gives them a sort of pallid, sickly look which I think fits DE well. | |

That's what I was hoping for, I'll give the second layer a go. And the idea for the eyes was ripped off these very forums I think

| Liking the models, very good for 20 years off. Could I suggest a bit more light with the photos but? I'm having trouble seeing what they actually look like on any detail because of the darkness. | |

I thought my Haemonculus-grafted painting arms had a 'used' feel to them.

| I'm going to experiment with the hair colours on a couple of the witches but I also have a couple with the helmets and not sure how to approach them tbh. Any suggestions? | |

| Loving the freehand - nice choice if colours and very neatly executed. What inspiration do you use to design the patterns? | |

| Cheers The symbols come from a variety of sources, chinese lettering, runic symbols I found using a google image search and the observers alphabet from Fringe, try to keep them in the style of alot of the DE symbols I've seen elsewhere. Oh, and the wife designed one for me. Next on the list are my Raiders. Now there's a daunting prospect... | |

| Take a raider one part at a time. Say body first, the extras like sails and such, crew last. That is how I am going about it. | |
