Succubii

Hey all!

Was glancing at some of the Army lists in that subforum, and noticed not a lot of Succubii use. Are they generally frowned upon? I'm liking the idea of a cheap Venom Blade on a WS8 model... Seems like a great way to get a bunch of reliable wounds inflicted.

Anyone who actually uses them? (Haven't had time to try out much DE stuff since grabbing my first few kits so I have no tactical experience with em yet)

They aren't frowned upon at all. A cheap Venom Blade Succubus is an excellent value HQ to lead wyches or the like.

Succubi aren't bad, but in my eyes they really are more of an addition to a Wych Squad than a true HQ face wrecker. If you are having a low point game, though, a Venom Blade Succubus is wonderfully effective. They're cheap, have plenty of attacks and mow down infantry with ease.

I like them, but I would never take one as my warlord. For a warlord I'd want my nice, survivable Archon with some of the best luck in 40k.

I suppose what people are scared of is the Succubus getting shot down before any real damage can be inflicted. Without the Shadow or Clonefield upgrades available it may seem odd to take one, but I do like them.

They got a lot better with Look Out, Sir! and Challenges, lot more survavable.

Succubi were frowned upon in 5th because she was targeted really easy and 4++ wasnt much of a save. Now she is more reliable choice.

theres no better HQ for mowing through a marine unit than a succy with an aggy, or VB against guard. you get the re-rolls to wound on combat drugs, and she becomes insane!
