2000 pt tourney list w/comp score DE/Eldar

As the title suggests i have a 2000 pt. Tourney coming up on New Year's Day, as a kickoff for league play. As to the comp score, i am not worried about that, as i am going to go the wwp route. I know, "that's crazy talk", but i think i can pull it off with clever deployment, smart portal placement, & playing to the mission. Plus I get to play a really cool army, that most people won't know how to counter effectivly. More likely, it will be an uphill battle, dominated by bad matchups, but if i wanted things to be easy, I would play marines!

Generally, only my heavy support & the 2 footslogging units of Wracks start in reserve, but that really depends on the army i will be facing. The Jetbikes work together opening up transports & taking out dangerous vehicles, basically harass & drawout the enemy. The beastsmaster threaten anything trying to surround the portals. They are counterassault, until the talos come out where they will then escort them into combat. The cronos & wracks work together & template units off of objectives. The eldar are there for psychic defense AT, & doom is hilarious with multiple liquifier shot.

So I've come to the experts, what do my fellow Archons say.

looks pretty good, the blasters on the reavers are more of a preference thing, I'd love to hear how the cronos does, this list seems like it could either rip your opponent a new one or will die in a wonderful explosion of fire. The one thing that i would be careful of is making sure you don't over extend with your jetbikes, maybe swap out a talos for a ravager. I dunno it's up to you but looks pretty good

Thanx for the comments. I agree w/you on the load out on the Reavers being a preference. I went w/ the blasters for a couple of reasons; A)longer range allows them to use there assault move to full use & B) it fits the fluff i picture in my head (rattle, rattle). I pictures this list as a mercenary scouting force capable of rapidly bringing reinforcements to bear in strategic locations, & then vanish back into the shadows, dragging their prey directly back to the slave pens of Commoragh. So it fits (for me), both how it will play & the "forging the narrative" feel that seems part & parcel with this edition.

The Cronos does feel like the weakest link here. It should be a huge bullet magnet (people really freak out when it comes on! Completely out of proportion to how it performs.) when it comes through the portal, & if it's in range, the ap of it's template weapons should generate some casualties, that is when it becomes a real force multiplier. Feel no pain on a Talos is just pure nasty. Still, truth be told I wanted a flier, but couldn't find the pts & still keep the Eldar allies. If his performance is poor, (which is probable) i will switch it out for another Talos or possibly that Ravager (though i worry about it's survivability at the beginning of a game).

As too that last bit about "fiery explosion & the ripping a new one", that has always been my experience with the Dark Kin! ;p

I notice you have the Baron, but a distinct lack of Helions. is this preference, or deliverate? your choice mate....

I love Hellions!! The thing is for this list to work, I needed to have a durable unit that can survive a round or two of fire & was limited on points. So a large enough squad of Hellions plus haemi & wracks to make them durable enough for my purposes got cost prohibitive pretty quickly. The Baron synergies extremely well with them filling the holes in their game quite admirably.

I really believe that Hellions need to have a list specifically built around them, so to play to their particular strength's & weaknesses.

These two list are what i have been playing in 6th since the first week or two after the drop. So far they have performed admirably for me, but it's getting a bit stale. I guess I'm looking for some variety! (Don't tell the wife! ;p)

just ot correct your list, you need 3 warlocks minimum, not 1. sorry, friend

Doh, I've been playin' that wrong for months, back to the drawing boaard, again!

I find Conceal and running them on foot is a good way, that way you get a 5+ cover save and can run up the board with them, saving you the need for jetbikes

That's a thought, but i don't know how much the they would add to either of the lists. Conundrum.

Edit: just reread my codex & it looks to me that HQ option is for a retinue to accompany the farseer, & the single warlock in the unit entries are for a character upgrade for that particular squad. Now i could be wrong, i am new to playing eldar, & even then only as allies. I'm a one army kinda guy.

I will ask in the rule section, couldn't find anything faq (might of missed it).

No need ask in the rules forum. The way you've got it is fine. You can add a single warlock to a variety of squads as listed in their entries, the HQ choice is a separate thing.

Thanx Bugs N Orks, any opinion on the lists though, like i said this the precusor tournament for league play & i would like to make statment.
