New guy question on the Duke (combat drugs)

Sliscus' rules say he's supposed to be assigned with a warrior or trueborne squad. His wargear includes combat drugs (he benefits from the 2 dice roll choice). My question is do his combat drugs affect his warrior/trueborn squad he's with, like the phantasm grenade launcher does?

Only if he gets the pain token since pain tokens grant benefits to every member of a squad with the Power from Pain rule. If he rolls +1 Strength or the like however, no they do not get that bonus. They would need combat drugs of their own.

Also just because he has his special rule that benefits warriors/trueborn doesn't mean he must start with them (though he does if you want that benefit) nor does he need to stay with them. Once the game starts he can leave the warrior/trueborn squad he's with and join a melee unit if you like and the warrior/trueborn squad will keep their upgraded weapons.

If your army contains at least one unit of Warriors or Trueborn he must start attached to one.
The rest is correct, though.

dont forget the wording is IF you have a warrior or truewborn squad he must start with them, if you run wracks as youre troop choice he can start any where

Wyches probably benefit more thanks to his Contraband rule and like I mention he doesn't need to stay with the squad he starts with so it's not that big a deal either way.

Most people start Duke off in a Warrior or Trueborn squad for the poison bonus but then move him into a more combat capable unit to make best use of his cc ability.
