Hey, I'm Aariya, 30-year-old female from Ontario Canada. I'm new here (obviously) and very new to 40k generally... at the moment I'm really just in it for the painting but I wanted to choose and stick to one army in case one day I want to play. So... I chose Dark Eldar because they are the most badass-looking.
So far I have wyches and scourges... working out a colour scheme now, thinking mostly black with yellow/orange highlights and green hair. I fully expect it to look like crap because I'm not that good at painting yet and holy crap these models are detailed, but it's ok.
Got my rulebook and codex the other day, so I have been reading and trying to learn everything. I've watched a few games of 40k (it's kind of a thing at work, a bunch of my coworkers play) but none with Dark Eldar, and there are a LOT of rules and such that I really just don't understand at all... it's a bit overwhelming sometimes, but I'm really enjoying the whole learning process.

also its nice to see some people new to dark eldar too. i have recently started dark eldar and have only been playing for a year but they are definetly a very quick fun army to bug your friends with. the paint scheme also seems pretty cool. i personally went with a dark dark blue green with some light blue highlights along with a version of out of production models that are black and red. Is there particular armies that your friends play as because i may be able to offer some help as one of my friends plays a variety of armies i have to deal with it all the time. Hope i could help.
