Cult of Endless Tears - 1000pts

This is for a campaign my group is starting up. Will begin at 1000pts, and must have a theme, we plan to write our own fluff for our armies, and after each battle. We will do an escolation, each month increase 250 points, and can make changes as necessary at the end of each month when the points increase. With this, we all face the same list each month, have a chance to change it, and go at it again for another month, representing being in the 'theatre of war' as it were.

For me, I plan on utilizing a tactic not seen much by people I play, the Webway List. This is build around using one unit to rush and drop a portal, where the rest of the army may flood out. At this level, dont have the points to run 2 portals for redundancy, but shouldn't have that much problem (I hope). I know I will be facing mostly MEQs in Blood Angels, Space Wolves, Grey Knights, Chaos Space Marines, Orks, Necrons, and Tau. I tried to build this to be agile, press the speed advantage of the army. I will also start up a project log to go along with this, so you can follow my progress. The idea is to play with the army, and also to paint up the bits we have, moving forward as we go.

HQ:

Haemonculus - 120

Fluff: This is my alter-ego, Fleshmoulder Greiil, a young haemonculus who has made himself known within the Covens as a master moulder of flesh and sinew. He lends many of his talents to the Arenas, where he has experimented with the beasts summoned from the warp, mimicking their strengths and movements artifically in flesh, turning them into something more. A young Succubus, Rayne, has also caught his eye, her grace with a weapon matched only by her flawless beauty. For once in his life, Greill has found a plaything that he desires more than to make anew. He admires her from afar, and awaits the day she meets her demise, so that he may give her a rebirth as something more. Until that day, he lends his hands to her efforts to rise up the ladder that is Commoragh, and take her place upon a throne of bloodshed and tears.

Fluff: Rayne Tear-Drinker, a warrior the likes which have not been seen in years within the Arena, who is rumored to be something more. She has set her eyes upon the title of the Dark Muses. In a twist of fate, it seems Rayne has gained a shadowy patron, a haemonculus known only as Greiil. She has accepted is favor, although she watches her back, curious to learn what this favor will cost her, knowing nothing is truly free in Commoragh...

Fluff: Personal retinue of Greiil, each one lovingly crafted bit by bit, as an artisan build a sculpture from stone, these creations formed from flesh and sinew. It is rumored that Greiil has found a way to make his creations completely subservient to him, though if this is through some special injection or from mind melding has yet to be seen.

Fluff: The followers of Rayne, who have decided to follow her lead. They are fiercely loyal to their leader, and stive to move from the Arena further along the lines, in hopes that they can gain the power they desire alongside their mistress.

Fluff: Greiil's personal creation, and personal assistant in his pits, performing the heavy tasks Greiil tasks to it as his personal beast of burden. In the primitave worlds of the Mon-Keigh, there is a story of a mad scientist who created a monster from flesh and machine, called Frankenstein's Monster. Those who have survived long enough have learned that in the universe, some fairy tales are true in their own twisted way.

Whatcha think? I plan later down the road replacing the reavers with a beastmaster pack, and adding another haemonculus/wrack setup for a second WWP delivery system, or even scourges for a bit more reliable anti-tank power while trying to stay fluffy-ish. Later at the 2000 point level, also plan on having 2 more wych squads build the same as the one I am using, to have a truly fearsome front.

You could lose the agoniser and the stinger pistol as the baron pointed out you don't want to be in combat with this guy and if you've got a liquifier how many times are you using the stinger.

2 HQ's at a 1000pts is somewhat indulgent but if that is set in stone then give her an agoniser as the baron suggested.

The acothyst serves no purpose (your haemonculus provides leadership boost) so give him a special weapon or remove him. I like the baron say remove him.

I'd consider that you could split this unit into 2 identical units of 7 wyches w/haywires inc 1 special weapon and a hekatrix w/agoniser. Gives you an extra scoring unit and an extra agoniser.

I'd drop 1 reaver from here and combine the points saved from the list to change the second unit into a beastmaster squad (heavy on razorwing flocks and a few khymaera to catch instant death).

Added the harlequins for another unit to pack a couple of melta weapons should they be needed, and also be a support combat unit with FC and Hit and Run. Plus, had the models laying around, would love to give them a try. I am rather strapped for cash and models,so this is the best I have right this moment.

Plan is still to have the Haemy and wracks starting, everything else in reserve to pop out of the Portal. Will probably be rather hit or miss. But no guts, no glory as they say, and sometimes you have to be willing to play aggressive to reap great rewards.
