| With my ever expanding DE I'm always looking for new ideas to make my Kabal unique. My latest incarnation I think feels like a good one, but I want to get some advice about it.
The basis for this new change is I'm going to get a Malys model and bloodbrides from the Raging Heroes line, so I want to work them into the core of my list. The Baron and Hellions are one of the reasons I picked up DE, along with Reavers. I used to be a competitive player, but took a break from the game. Sorta more into the modelling/painting aspect now, but I'll probably start doing tournaments again eventually.
The overall goal is for the list to be only slightly unconventional, but can suprise opponents if they don't pay attention.
Kabal of Flayed Emotion 1850pts.
HQ: Lady Malys Baron Sathonyx
Elite: 8 Bloodbrides w/ Haywires, 2 Shardnet-Impalers, Siren Raider w/ Nightshield
Troops: 11 Hellions, Helliarch w/ Venom blade
5 Wyches w/ Haywires Venom w/ 2 cannons, Nightshield
5 Wyches w/ Haywires Venom w/ 2 cannons, Nightshield
5 Kabalites, Blaster Venom w/ 2 cannons, Nightshield
5 Kabalites, Blaster Venom w/ 2 cannons, Nightshield
Fast: 6 Reavers, 2 Blasters
6 Reavers, 2 Blasters
Heavy Support: Ravager, Nightshield Ravager, Nightshield Ravager, Nightshield
1850 total
The main idea is a typical Alpha strike with a pretty capable mop up element. Baron helps get first turn, then after my opponent deploys, Lady Malys rearranges some stuff to give better lines of fire to get side armor, eliminate cover, or pull a refused flank to only engage part of my opponents army. The Baron and Malys units will have a greater role in mid-late game in just doing what needs to be done for the mission (killing troops off objectives, etc).
So, thoughts? | |

| Great looking list! Also two of HQ that I have most liked from the codex (both dont have any models available in GW stores though ) Sathonyx makes Hellions troop choices, right? So you now have a good scoring unit that has a long reach for objectives to claim and I think thats good! | |

| Interesting list, those Bloodbride models will look awesome! As for Baron, sadly he only lets you have a slightly better chance for choosing deployment zone, not for who gets first turn. | |

The FAQ errata-ed that the words 'choose deployment zone' is switched to 'goes first'. Ya I'm excited about those models, I only hope I'll do them justice with the paintjob.

| Nice list. What's your plan if you go second?
Also don't the night shields just mean your reavers/hellions get shot up instead of your raider/ravagers (hybrid listsweaken the effectiveness of night shields on that first turn)? Or do the reaver/hellions start in reserve?

Or do the reaver/hellions start in reserve? For going second the Reavers will probably be reserved, and depending on the opponent and terrain availability possibly the bloodbrides as well. I'd have to look at deepstriking the Hellions into cover if needed. A lot of that depends on if its an opponent that is going to come at me or not. I think the reavers and Hellions have enough deployment options that in the case I do go second, it won't be a complete tactical loss. But yes, going second will make things a little more difficult. *Edit* If I were to drop the Night Shields, what would I get instead? I could beef up existing units I suppose (Hellions, Bloodbrides), or get 3 more Reavers. Also any other advise on what to do when I get stuck with going second is greatly appreciated. I'm a pretty good player, but not perfect by any means, I'll take help from anywhere I can find it.
