| I was just reading the "Misconceptions of Incubi" article from last year...It was a good read, but I'd like to start a discussion on Incubi and how well they fit (or how well they dont fit) into 6th edition armies. I think they got some major buffs...
Charge range increase (doubly with fleet) More movement with increased turbo boost more resilient to glancing hits on their transport FNP saves against power weapons
A notable debuff... FNP is now only 5+ Exploding transports now do str 4 wounds
Another interesting thing to discuss is...The Klaivex Higher initiative means more in this edition. Placement of Klaivex can take out special weapons...and in challenges, can reliably take out champions
And to take into account things like.... Fearless no longer causes wounds...Which is good and bad. Good because it can help keep us in combat that extra round...bad because it cuts down on the wounds we can do to a fearless squad...
Any other comments? Do we think Incubi squads are viable in this edition? More or less viable with the new changes?

| i used incubi today, i wanted to give em a run out as they not been out in over 4 months.
ran them with my archon 6 incubi 1 upgraded to klaivex with the demi klaves and blood stone, in a raider.
played against CSM they anilated a 10 CSM squad, klaivex blood stone and kills 3, the Klaivex took the challenge from champion killing him, archon butchered 3, 4 incubi wipe last 3(1 died to over watch), finished off 3 raptors and chaos lord, soaked up heldrake bale flamer and claimed line breaker.
normally that squad would have been wyches and would have ended up falling short if they had tried to do the same IMO.

| Just out of interest, how did they soak up a baleflamer? No armour, no cover, Incubi don't have any invulnerable and it's S6 so no FNP. | |

maybe the shadow field tanked it? I'm kinda curious too. I'm personally in love with the blood stone. Always makes its point back.

| just happens that the archon was closest and took all 4 wounds on his SF, which i do normally fail after 1 or 2 rolls. he was a real fire shield lol. this was a game of games and when i get time to do the report i will post. | |

| I always almost have a squad with an archon and PGL, they are fantastic in this addition. | |

| Yup. In 1000+ pts lists I like to run 4 Incubi plus an Archon (PGL) in a Venom and fly them off to the thougest nuts to crack.
I've never used to Klaivex or it's bloodstone 'cause I always use the points on other things (like NSs and FFs), but maybe I' ll give it a go next game.

| I have found the Bloodstone to be almost "too good" as it has a tendency to add a couple inches to the roll I need to make to charge... | |

| its str 3 gives gives most armies a chance i hit 7 CSM only killing 3 but then i was so close it didn`t matter for charge distance. it was great moving the raider 6 then disembarking 6 right into their faces think it was only 3 inches left. on average you can get a 19 inch charge not even taking fleet into account. if in doubt dont use the bloodstone before charging, i find it useful as it puts people off a risky charge as well | |
